Merging: Blank Field is Erasing Data

When merging two Contacts or Companies in Hubspot using the "Merge" option under the "Actions" dropdown, the current way it works is to replace the fields with the most recent data. The specific issue is that if a field is blank, and it is being merged into a field which is not blank, the ending outcome is that the field is blank simply because the item is newer. This is an incredibly inefficient and should be addressed.


***If a field has a null value, it should be ignored if trying to be merged into a field with a value.***

This is a much needed improvement to stop us losing data when merging contacts!

Hubspot - would you be able to put this on your list of improvement areas?

We only realised this when we had already merged quite a few records and have therefore lost some valuable data.
