I would like to be able to merge two deal stages and retain information on deal activity within, rather than ourtight deleting a stage.
I don't want to lose data like "Time Spent in Deal Stage", but I'd rather merge the time spent in two stages into one, as we're making our process more efficient.
I am also facing this issue. We want to move from a 6-stage deal process to a 5-stage process. This requires renaming everything (which HubSpot can do), merging two stages into one (which HubSpot can't do), and deleting a separate "no man's land" stage. When we delete a stage it also deletes the stage for historical reporting, which makes this data ugly and harder to clean. Instead of being able to merge stages, we have to move all live deals to one of them and delete the other. When there are multiple deleted stages in historical deal stage data, it's impossible to properly allocate them to the new stages when creating custom reporting outside HubSpot.
This whole process would be easier if HubSpot had a built in Merge Stages feature. It could even be available for Closed Lost and Closed Won. The "no man's land" stage we want to delete could be merged with Closed Lost.
