Mandatory checkboxes for consent to data processing and communication on multistep form
The new multi-step forms don't allow you to make data processing consent and communication subscription checkboxes compulsory, as is the case on classic forms.
This is problematic to ensure explicit consent to data storage and correct communications subscriptions. The new multistep forms are therefore unusable as they stand for explicit consent and be RGPD compliant.

Under GDPR you are not allowed to make communication consent mandatory, you can either imply it or have an optional checkbox.
The only thing we can make mandatory is the consent to process. So I would say it works as it should, and in fact the legacy editor isn't 100% GDPR compliant.
