Manage Following Settings/Notification

When a ticket is created, if I am assigned as the ticket owner then I automatically start following them, so when another rep responds or if the customer responds then I am notified via email twice: once because I am the ticket owner and then again because I am following them. At that point, I have to go to their company/contact and manually unfollow them. This is extremely tedious and clouds my Inbox. It would be nice to have the option to manage your following settings/notifications.
