It seems the line items are updated in the deal whenver they are removed or added to a quote. It would be great to keep ALL of the line items in the deal regardless of the quote and to be able to sort them in such a way so you can see if they are "quoted" items or "Purchased" items.
It's really a must for a SaaS. Instead of having to create new deals for any line item changes (assuming you want your customer to update their payment via stripe) we add new line items with a new start date and "expire" (change it to one time and add a term) the old lines. It's also needed for the current limitation of having to separate recurring and non-recurring (like implementation fees) and different frequencies. When you send the new quote and remove the old or non-payable lines from it your deal historical value is gone.
This is a must have, sometimes multiple quotes are generated per deal and having the deal line items and amount change every time is not ideal. Place in a sync feature on quotes so that will align it as the primary quote on the deal and all items within the deal and quote will align.
I would strongly recommend going away from Hubspot for anything Stripe - the proof is they are now launching a beta solution despite saying they had one for multiple years! CRM is a big and critical choice - if you are a SaaS and care about integrated payment solutions, subscriptions and taxes... choose something else. Even if you overcome all limitations with Stripe the deals, products, and line items are unmanageable for good recurring, cohort and historical reporting: by design as per this more than one-year-old thread... FYI - if you have been using Hubspot integration and allowed it to create Stripe customers any subsequent payment link you send from Stripe will return an error. The solution offered: recreate your customers manually!
Our scenario is we add line items to existing deals and want to use the quoting system to provide a "variation quote". The original line items need to stay on the deal, but not be shown on the variation quote. Can this be achieved?
