Log SMS texts sent to contacts in the CRM

When hitting the text message icon on the HubSpot Ap, it takes you to your texting screen on your phone, which is great. I think it would be very valuable to automatically log that text into the CRM if you hit that icon button on your contact's page. Right now it is set that you have to copy and paste that text back on the page.

Nothing new to add regarding use case, but wanted to agree that it would be great to have an update on this.  Our team would love to be able to text from the HubSpot app, or have iMessage texts log into HubSpot.  In the meantime, a Log Text section would be helpful (so at least they aren't lumping in with calls), but as others have mentioned, it's really time consuming to copy and paste entire conversations with leads and other Contacts.

 

Although there are some integration options in the Marketplace, we don't want our team members to have to get a new phone number to use the functionality, or pay per x number of texts.  Texting is a standard way of communicating, so it seems like this would be built into HubSpot core at this point.

I will echo Brad:

 

Two parts:

1) It would be great if one of the "Log Activity" could contain "Log a text message"

 

2) It would be even better if we could send text messages straight from the CRM.

- More often than not, text messages have been the preferred choice for clients/prospects. Not mass texts as there are already companies for that, but individual text messages for follow up etc.

For now, I just list it as a "Call", but really I'd like to log the text message and send from the CRM.

- Doesn't have to be "from" my number, as what happens when I call.

This is definitely needed on the mobile app so sales can log them in automatically in an activity type 'SMS'.

For our industry (student housing) text messaging is key. We do 90% of our communications via text and DM. We are using HeyMarket to integrate our SMS to our timeline. But its' a bummer because we can't use the "last activity" because we can't edit it to include text messages. 


We have created a custom property "Last SMS date" but it would be great it if were be able to be lumped in as an activity so we could more easily sort by any activity (email, call, etc.) and not have to sort text messages differently!

I was using RoloCRM to do this.  They stopped supporting it.  What's the update?

We need to have a way to automatically thru the HubSpot app to log text messages (SMS). I also think there should be a section that allows us to log text messages (SMS) in HubSpot too.

 

This is how some of our sales team communicate with their contacts and yet they are having to get creative on how it is logged since there is not Text section. So they log it under email as a text message.

My team just started using the JustCall integration with HubSpot, which logs SMS messages on the contact timeline as JustCall activity and/or Notes.
The problem I have is that I have no way of reporting this as a Sales Activity.  The best HubSpot can give me is Notes.  But we use Notes for all kinds of things, not just SMS.

Please give us the ability to incorporate integrations (such as SMS activity) into Sales Activity reporting so we can measure how many SMS messages our sales reps are sending.

It is so sad to see that this was submitted in 2017 and 5 years later there is still nothing in the system for this.  In our HubSpot system we have over 200 users of the system and this is the #1 item that they ask for the ability to send text to their contacts (from their own phone number) even just to have a simple option to log a text afterward would be a huge step up.  Texting is a huge platform that is being missed in the HubSpot system.

How is this still not a thing? It's 2022.

 

I have to use the Log a Call option and write "text message" as the description.

@Soltero lol you took my post! So, I'll +1.... It's 2022 folks, we could really use some priority sprint focus on knocking out a solid list of "must haves" for a CRM that will not go wasted in marketing. Will help position Hubspot higher on the list compared with the comp!

Can't log SMS? strange

Can't access lists from mobile app? Strange

Can't mod lifecycel strange? strange

Testing dark mode on email is pro feature not starter? strange

I'll try to package some others together and make a master post later perhaps....

P.S. came here while trying to log a text... So went back after posting and used email... Doesn't update last contacted? strange... Used log call which does updated last contacted so it removes contact from active "not contacted in over 6 months" list...

This would be great! Also, when logging a text, it would be great to also be able to classify it by the type of text it is (same as call/meeting type dropdown).

I have been asking for that feature for many months now without any follow
up….all the new features are nice to have referring to the las e-mail
announcing them….but SMS logging ia an every dayr copy and paste thing for
many of us since the younger generation is more sms then e-mail ?

Logging texts from a phone would be huge for my team.  The text button is great, but the text does not get logged, which doesnt give us any visibility into critical information that is being communicated.  Please get this developed!!!

What is the point of this chat? Cannot HubSpot simply get off their **bleep** and respond and take action? This request has been put there for 3 years? In the technology world that is 2 lifetimes . GET IT DONE!
