Limitation of LinkedIn ads API that doesn't allow correct attribution for more than 1 ad

The current Linkedin API does not attribute tracking correctly in HubSpot if you have more than one ad in a campaign. If you have more than one ad creative that links to the same url, it atrributes all contacts to the original ad, no matter if the original ad is paused. This doesn't allow you to correctly attribute leads or complete a true A/B test in HubSpot.

 

According to the HubSpot specialist who helped investigate this issue, the data that LI sends to the HubSpot ads tracking tool does not differentiate between ads that have the same url. The data that is written into the HS system makes conversions for these ads read the same, without an identifier for the HS tool to attribute contacts to the different versions.

 

Given that successful LinkedIn campaigns generally need more than 1 ad creative over the course of the campaign, but all ads would need to point to the same landing page, this is a pretty big issue.
