The new left menue auto-hiding and auto-appering slows down selecting sub-menu items. We could use an option to freeze the navigation to show icons only. There are 8 reasons for this being a good setting:
1) Our mouse would have to travel less distance when making sub-menu item selections 2) We wouldn't have to wait for a pop up menu before making a sub-menu item selection
3) For people using multiple monitors, we wouldn't be forced to expand the menu when crossing over from one monitor to the next (watch video below)
4) With the menu auto expanding/selecting menu items upon hover, we have to move the cursor directly to the right first before making a sub-menu item selection, because otherwise a different menu item would accidentally get selected (watch video below) 5) We wouldn't accidentally expand the menu when working with contact and deal properties in the left column
6) It would be less distracting 7) It would save space
😎It is how Pipedrive and other CRMs do it
If Hubspot is worried about how people will react, just allow for this to be a preference in settings. Please make a setting that forces the navigivation to remain as "icons only". When the user clicks on the icons, it should not expand the main menu items into words, but it should only expand/show the submenue items.

Agreed - not sure why this change is being forced onto people - why not make it a preference / option? I wonder who exactly was clamoring for this change...
Thank you. I agree. In the contact mode, I will often update the "About this contact" on the left-hand side and the navigation keeps popping up when I get too close to the edge. This is happening multiple times a day and is very annoying.
I agree - please make it our choice as to where we have the navagation bar. It takes up too much space on a laptop. Please dont try to fix someting thats is not broken.
Agree with User choice. I polled my team and 100% agreed that the new UI is an issue.
If you want additional real estate at the top of the screen, simlply reduce text size of the dropdown and move into blue bar above.
Hubspot is already a challenge to view detailed reports with numerous columns and now it will be worse.
This change seems to have been made by someone that liked the idea aesthetically and had no concern for how a professsional user navigates through the CRM.
