I have the same issue, whilst creating a custom report for a client, which groups on a calculated property. The calculated property's formula returns a string defined in title case e.g.Open, and when I test it, it returnsOpen. However, in the custom report that includes this property it reverts toopen- which doesn't look very professional ...
We need more control over the display of property labels in Reports. It would also help to have the ability to define a visual hierarchy (similar to website headings) especially in TABLES (summary / pivot reports). Happy to speak to a HubSpot Product Manager to share some real use cases 😁
Really need this implemented, it seems like such a strange decision to have made in the first place to disregard the existing formatting that has been entered. Why would I take care to name emails/forms with proper capitalisation only for it to all disappear in a report? Our reports that have been generated and are supposed to get sent to key stakeholders we cant use without manually formatting all the data (first and last names being set as lowercase??).
I honestly had barely noticed this UNTIL I was trying to provide easier access to company records' corresponding SF records.
I created a new property that injected the Company Account ID from Salesforce into a string that I had hoped would allow someone to click over to the company record in Salesforce quickly and easily. Great idea, right?! Until you realize the case sensitivity of record URLs on the SF side.
Tried a few workarounds thinking it was my fault. Flipped the property from a single line text field to a rich text field, tried copying the original value to a placeholder, thinking that it might maintain the string's case settings. NOPE. Tried to sneak the value in by making the new rich text field a link with the dynamic property detail. Nope.
Hopefully they can make this small yet very frustrating change at some point.
Why is a bug that has been raised in 2021 still not fixed?
The HubSpot Ideas section is for feature requests and improvements, not for support to refer us to as a get out of jail free card when we report bugs.
My business has fields that are used with case sensitive codes that are then used in other systems. we cannot use the reports feature now to include those codes as they instantly render then useless when all formatted as lowercase.
This shouldn't rely on upvotes to fix broken items!
Insane that this isn't fixed. Stupidly the notion of implementing a lower case transposition, is additional development work than just leaving the case as it was.
Hubspot do such amazing things, but a fundamental error like this exists. It's quite remarkable.
I reached out to the Support team about this issue today, before finding this post, as I was frustrated by not being able to properly format the Company property Company Name in a custom Pivot Table and Table report using multiple data sources. I was told, "in reports using lists, the name will be retrieved using a Query internally that only returns lowercase. As an alternative for Table chart types, you could use Record ID which shows the name as added to the company alongside its ID." I explained to Support that I was aware of that workaround, but that using Record ID in place of Company Name creates a different problem, as that column cannot be sorted alphabetically by Company Name, a common need in reports that use Company Name. I agree that the issue makes affected reports look inconsistent and unprofessional, and could lead stakeholders to think we as report designers overlooked a basic formatting issue. It also looks disrespectful on client-facing reports, as some company names are capitalized as part of their brand identity. Data should be formatted in a report as it is entered into the CRM, or report designers should have the option to change the case (lowercase, Capitalize Every Word, Sentence Case, etc.).
Commenting again almost a year since I last commented, how has this not been fixed yet??? This is a big bug that needs to be fixed, not a feature request.
Still no update for this. Very unprofessional looking when reports don't have case correct. The Deal Stage field looks fine but the Deal Name is lowercase? Fix this ASAP!
