For anyone dealing with international customers/prospects is the issue of correctly capturing the phone number, including the country code in a consistent syntax that can be called with one click from the dashboard.
Unfortunately, HubSpot's phone number box is just a freeform box, and the visitor has too much flexibility in terms of the input. Since visitors think and behave differently, say buh-bye to consistency in the syntax.
I recommend that HubSpot forms (and other associated services, e.g. meetings) that use the phone field use a field with a country dropdown, with the visitor's current country pre-selected (based on IP location), like this open source javascript library does.
This will eliminate the need to ask visitors to type in their country codes, and eliminate poorly syntaxed phone numbers, instead providing readily diallable international numbers.
