Increase limit on dropdown values

The current limit of 5.000 values in a dropdown is not always sufficient to ensure standardised data.

We want to use the value in City to pull in demographics of that city from external sources (like 'Number of Inhabitants'). For this we need a standardised input in City (to prevent mathcing errors with the external table).

Germany (and many other countries) have more than 5.000 cities and currently there is no way to facilitate that. We could of course create a conditional City property for each State with only cities from that State, where users would first select the State and then a city from the City list for that State, but then we need a workflow to populate the general City field. Because we would always want to use 1 City property in the left sidebar and in personalisations.

Splitting it up in 'City A-G', 'City H-O', etc. leads to the same issues.

When a company moves to a different state, it would also be super messy for an agent to change the company record.

Having 11.000 values in a dropdown (enough for Germany) would be a much simpler solution.

Yes, great idea, this would be massively helpful for us as well. Our use case is slightly different to OP's:

We want customers to be able to select themselves on hubspot forms from a list of around 20,000 companies that we're able to work with.

The reason we need this is because:

1. The industry we work in often use freemail domains, in which case HubSpot can't automatically match contacts with companies
2. Many of the companies have similar names, so we want them to select their company from a list that includes an identifier

3. This would allow us to automate follow-up steps based on their company details, without having to collect it all manually
