Pasting that into the phone number property in the contact leaves us with the following issues: - It doesn't automatically choose the country code users end up having to choose the country code manually (and can lead to instances where human error selects the wrong code or the agent misses out on this and leaves the number with an error on the contact record) - Editing/deleting the phone number also causes issues with the formatting so users would need to go back to their original page (i.e email) to copy the number without the area prefix to ensure the formatting is not affected
There are other softwares that allow the system to pick up the country code and automatically select it when pasting.
The propsed solution here would be to review the way the system picks up numbers and to allow users to paste a full number with the country code, and the system automatically picks up the country code and formats the number.
