Import multiple different line items with one deal
It would be so much easier if we are able to import multiple different line items with one deal. Right now it's so time consuming because if one contact orders 2 different products/services from us, then I have to manually sift through the excel to find those contacts and enter those deals manually and separately before importing the contacts that only ordered 1 product/service from us in bulk.
Hey @Alexa2358 , if you create a deal property that requires unique property validation, you can then use this property in import as your unique identifier for deals. Giving each new deal in your spreadsheet a unique value for this property will effectively replace the need for the record ID in the above example.
Instructions on how to set validation rules for properties can be found here.
Hey @DFenton -- Alex From the Import/Export team here.
This should be possible as it stands today to import multiple different line items per deal. You can of course include additional information in your file, and even information for other objects across rows, but if you were to run the following import, you'd update the one deal (referenced by the record ID in the "Deal ID" column) with 3 new associated line items.

@agirard Thanks for answering, but what if you have to import a bunch of deals with different line items and all the deals are new in the system (transferring over from another CRM) - so they don't have a Record ID which is mandatory. I would appreciate a solution here, thank you in advance!

H there, replying to your screengrab of the excel above.
On import would this overwrite the line items on the deal as the one import is aiming to populate one deal with muliple line items?
Also is the name of the line item enough to import and associate to the deal? I didn't know if would need the product ID to be able to associate correctly. I've also got the issue of quantity. For example one deal may have x2 of a line item, is this possible?
My current problem is i need to bulk create 40 deals all with different line items, so im just trying to get to grips with what the import sheet needs to look like. Thanks in advance for any help! 🙂
