At this time, HubSpot does not plan to build specifically for Safari because we are not able to bring a comparable experience to Firefox that we have for Gmail and Outlook. As we evaluate other enabling technologies like Google add-ons, we will revisit this idea in the future but for now we are not planning to build a Safari specific solution.
And just to highlight the stupidity, using Xcode and the information I posted previously, it literally took 30 minutes to convert the Chrome extension into one that now works in Safari. As of now, I am using Safari and will distribute this to my team. If anyone in the Hubspot Dev team wants to reach out, I am happy to share the extension I built for you to distribute to customers.
Hi @JulianR, could you kindly share the extension with all of us who are waiting for the Safari extension in this thread? I am eager to test it out. It's unbelievable that HubSpot hasn't introduced this in almost six years since the original post.
As I don’t have an apple developer license, I can’t sign the extension. This means it only works with Safari in developer mode. Not ideal.
I have reached out to Hubspot to share the code so that, with the work done, they can just sign and push it out and have it working without developer mode. Sadly no response to outreach so far. 😞
Can't wait to get the extension for safari. Would help our workflow immensely, probably would be more inclined to use hubspot more and sign up for more of their services too... 😉
This is totally bonkers. I know I'm preaching to the converted. But I've been hyper eagerly anticipating multiple user profiles on Safari (with Sonoma) because Chrome absolutely kills my Macbook Pro M1-Pro processor and rinses my RAM. The one obstacle now in the way is that bl**dy Hubspot Safari Extension for Gmail doesn't exist. Or just a Gmail extension for any browser.....
Add me to the list of folks who need and want this!!! If it only took our fellow user, above, 30 minutes to write code for this, I'm not sure I understand the delay on this?
I recently had to ditch Chrome on my main Mac work station, since I use it for professional video editing, and just having Chrome and all its associated keychain update software on my machine apparently causes issues. So I purged my machine. But now I'm seeing some of the things that I relied on in my workflow cannot be replicated in Safari. Like the HubSpot extension. That was super valuable.
chrome is not reliable as previously, lots of problem people are facing in chrome while using it for mac user it is more diffucult to trust thr chrome becuse chome is tracink everything and how many websites are tracking you while using chrome nobody can even guess.
