We have a client who is big on ADA Compliant and we have been working to ensure everything we do is ADA Compliant. We have realized that HubSpot forms are not natively ADA compliant as they do not alert sightless website users when required fields are present. The ADA compliant standard
the accessibility standard says --- ... This may be a simple change for hubspot to make to help their customers be more ADA compliant. It is too much code for us to add into all the forms and would rather see this out of the box.
Requirement:Required form fields should include an "aria-required" attribute that equals to "true" so blind users using screen-readers know their validation.
Upvoting this idea, this should be an easy fix for HubSpot to implement and accessibility of forms is extremely important. In addition to making the labels more visible, the help text for required fields should include the field name to make it clear which field is missing from a screen reader. Right now the form just reads "Please complete this required field." for every field that is required but doesn't specify the label of the field.
