High contrast mode for color blind/low-vision users
HubSpot's user interface is very clean and generally easy to use, but the current color scheme can make navigation difficult for low-vision users -- even when we know where most items are located.
Generally speaking, a higher contrast UI would be very helpful for this issue, but here are a few specific examples:
Darker background to differentiate content blocks from the background
Dark background for menu headings/side menus
Increased color luminescence on clickable menus
Custom color themes for those with specific color blindness (can vary person to person)
There could be other ways of improving visual accessibility, but those are just a few ideas. Workflows and Workflow settings are good examples that can benefit from the above points.
Totally agree with this recommendation. The Contact record UI is almost entirely monochrome grey with no color-distinction by data category or activity type. This makes it very difficult to skim review or quickly locate a specific data field/activity. With so much information in the left and middle columns, it all blends together with the current UI which increases the odds of not seeing an item or spotting a missing item.
Tom: Is there a way to make the type in Hubspot darker? It is really hard on my eyes - very hard to read because there isn't much contrast in the grey type and white backgrounds.
News Flash... Many HubSpot users are over 50 years old.
Here's what dark mode looks like in google chrome when you add this plug-in to the browser extension
This looks great until you add a note and then you can't see anything - as shown below.
