Google Calendar Integration needs to auto import new contacts
I use the Google Calendar integration but it doesn't automatically add new contacts, making it a challenge to see the next meeting in Hubspot and really laborious to add them one by one.
Use case: I was invited to a meeting created by the Executive Assistant on behalf of their colleagues and there were 10 new contacts in the meeting.
Naturally, I want these contacts added and the future activity to show.
It states on the sync rules on the plugin:
When a meeting is created from your connected calendar, the meeting will only log on the timeline of contacts that already exist in your HubSpot account. HubSpot will not automatically create contact records if the guests do not already exist in your HubSpot account.
It's strange that a contact can't be created, it already happens with logged emails so I would expect it to do the same for the calendar. If I'm hosting a webinar with 30+ people I'd want to capture their information through the meeting.
Additionally, we need a way to force re-sync because if it only syncs at time of invite and the contacts don't exists and then you create the contacts you still have to create a 'dummy' meeting in Hubspot to show next step. That's not ideal and it skews rep activity if they are to be compliant with the internal process!
...and while we're at it you should also allow calendar events to be driven by a Hubspot template such that you can specify meeting type e.g. demo and let in fill in the agenda. Coming from using tools like Outreach these are basic Calendar sync requirements to sustain efficient workflow and data capture.
