Global Email, template, snippet font & size formatting

MartinK

Hi,

Email formatting could be so much more user friendly if there was a central option to define the format for the final result. Now every template, snippet, signature can have a different format which makes it very difficult to maintain. And we all know, inconsistant formatting looks sloppy.

I would like all my emails to go out in tahoma, 11p. Why not create a per user option that forces a set format on the combined final result. Your competitor SalesLoft does it like that - it's a very elegant solution to makes sure the final result is consistant and you never have to worry about formating again.

Thanks

Adding on to this, on a customer's behalf:

It'll be great if this applied to font colours too, so that each time a new template is created, it can be in a specific default font colour without having to reselect the colour again! 🙂

@zeke Is this an easy fix for HubSpot? The default font does not influence templates, snippetts, etc.

Very frustrating as I'm having to manually change the font every time we create a new template/snippet. I understand that old templates, etc created prior to changing the font may be hard to update, however if this can be done as well that would be great!

Appreciate your time.

@vvadlamani Hello, I'm hoping this is something you can easily address? Thanks for your time

@NPW I'm not 100% sure since my perview is only Automation and the Workflows tool but I can pass along the feedback to the email team so they can be aware of this feedback

This would be great as having the font change after inserting a snippet is kinda very unuser friendly.

And not being able to change the signature font is not good either

This bug has been in Hubspot for years now.

It is very frustrating.

Is there any chance it has risen to the top of the email teams priority board at this point? 🙂

Agreed, VERY frustrating.  I found mulitple places to upvote so what's the deal?

If it can be done for emails, why can't it carry over from the email settings?

I've noticed even when I change all of the fonts when completing a template, the personalization comes over in a differnt font and after I've sent to a customer I have to go back in the template and figure out why it's defaulting back to that unprofessional font and correct it. 🙄

Hello everyone,

I agree with the previous speakers, it is very frustrating that the fonts cannot be properly synchronized with Outlook, nor can the signature and email body be set the same. It would be nice if this problem was finally fixed.

This can't be that hard for HubSpot to accomplish. I hope they finally give it the attention it deserves.

Can @hubspot please comment regarding this issue? It does look sloppy when this cannot be aligned with a users standard e-mail client. I have aligned font family and set the size to 10. when I see the same message in my outlook e-mail client, it shows as size 12 (where outlook default size is to 11). While it is close, it is still not aligned.

Sloppy Sloppy Sloppy. I find it incredibly frustrating to see this open issue four years later. Hubspot, as a marketing-forward company, this "Design 101" feature is table stakes. C'mon folks, just get it done. Can it really be that hard?!?!

I agree, please fix this immediately. It's enough to leave the platform, as we have only just moved over, and it would be very easy to switch at this point.

It's unbelievable that this has not been implemented yet.
We look like we are sending from cheap software....

I completely agree here. Style management in HubSpot is atrocious, and it's such a basic thing that is so integral to email marketing. Not only the issue mentioned on this page but even very simple things like having different font elements be different sizes. Or having more than 6 or so fonts to choose from (not to mention that the six provided do not include staples like Arial and Calibri). Or using colors (seriously!). All text style preferences should be managed in a single options menu, with the ability to define a "master" style and option to overwrite existing styles for different functions with that, or define styles independently.

My main goal is just to have my signature for emails sent through HubSpot exactly match my Outlook signature, which uses a couple of different fonts and colors. Should be super simple, but yet it's impossible. And the result of that is that any customers I email from within HubSpot can immediately see the difference and it looks 1) sloppy, and 2) like it obviously came from a marketing/CRM platform. Neither of which makes customers feel like they are getting a personalized communication.

@CLeGrand0 That is the best wording of this problem I've seen yet.

It is so unprofessional that it does not match the Outlook emails and signatures.

Next to that one of my clients had to tell me that the emails sent with HubSpot arrive in different fonts, and it happnes to be that the parts I copy and the parts that are manually eddited differ. Unacceptable. So I'm back at looking up emails in Outlook and writing the response there. Also to use the fonts, colors and formatting that matches the companies correspondence.

Honestly how has Hubspot not figured this out yet? On other threads they suggest clearing the formatting, but then that also clears out any hyperlinks in the template or snippet. So frustrating.

This idea was submitted FOUR YEARS ago.

Is there any plan to fix this?

We want our email, template, and signature fonts to all match.

It looks spammy and unprofessional when they don't.

Thanks for your time.

HAHAHAHA I see what you did there! - I notice that Sans Serif isn't even a choice in this drop down for our comments. Did you also notice you can't copy and paste text from a document or an old template without getting different fonts and a bunch of extra spaces between words through      out the        paragraph?

It is beyond frustrating that this has been an issue for so long. I actaully updated over 300 templates to try and match font/color so my team could add some persnalization without having to go thru all of the steps to reformat thier email.  You can't even set a default font/color and when they add something to a template you never know exactly what font your going to get.  It's maddening! PLEASE STOP CHANGING THINGS THAT AREN'T BROKEN AND WORK ON THIS FOR YOUR USERS, HUBSPOT!!!!

You need to fix this.

Oddly, you can use/choose Helvetica, Arial, and Times New Roman when sending marketing emails but completely different fonts when writing normal emails.

Our customers and prospects mention this very often and send us support emails/chats asking if it's us sending the emails or if it's fishing.

1. You need to be able to choose the same font for everything (templates, snippets, emails, signatures etc.) as a default.
2. You need to be able to choose a standard font that is compatible with all email providers. (This is an issue I can't comprehend to be existing in the first place)

What are you waiting for? Any other software already implemented this. Do we all have to move to other platforms?
