Generate the URL for a specific contact to access the subscription preferences page
Currently there's no way to generate a direct link for a contact to access their subscription preferences page. The only way we can direct a contact to resubscribe is 1) ask them to find an old email we sent them before they unsubscribed, 2) tell them to click on the "Manage Preferences" link at the bottom, and 3) subscribe to the email types that are relevant.
It'd be much easier if we could generate an individual link to a specific subscription preferences page. Then we could just email them the new link (through a personal email, since they won't get any emails we send them through HubSpot) and have them resubscribe. This eliminates the potential roadblock if the contact has already deleted all emails they've previously received from us.
It would be very useful to be able to get public URL to Unsubscripe system page and Subscription preferences page so we can link to it from f.ex. Privacy Policy etc.
While I enjoy the ability to customize our unsubscribe pages in the Website Builder, I have an external website and there's no way to add an unsubscribe link to my privacy policy. For example; if someone wanted to unsubscribe from our communications and can't find the link or original email; there's no way for them to find it. If we were able to create a generic link that unsubscribed them, we would be able to put that directly in our privacy policy page, or create an "Unsubscribe" page on my native website.
I'm trying to add a link to the marketing email subscription preferences page in the footer of our website. I've been told by support this isn't currently possible, and I found this other community post mentioning a need for it, too.
This would be for the marketing team, specifically using email and controling the website
The goal is to allow email recipients to be able to manage their email preferences without having to search for an email in their inbox.
This will allow users/clients/prospects that have opted-into email to be able to manage their subscriptions that much more easily. Adding that goodwill and user-friendly experience for the users. Benefiting the company's image/brand. Benefiting HubSpot's image/brand for being more user-friendly for their customer's, too.
I can't find a good example of this. But an almost is Workday - they have a "Subscriptions" link in their footer that goes to this link that makes people put in their email, to get an email, to click on a link to go to their preference center. - It should be possible to have less steps: link in footer takes you to a landing page, that landing page makes you put in your email, then you can adjust your email preferences in the same window.
I understand the need for a direct link for a contact to access their subscription preferences page. This would make it easier for contacts to resubscribe and reduce potential roadblocks. I support this idea and believe it would be a valuable addition to HubSpot's features. I encourage the HubSpot development team to consider implementing this idea in future updates.
This feature is desperately needed by our multiple clients, please consider adding this at the earliest for logged-in customers at least those that are using the membership functionality.
Can someone from HubSpot please provide an update to this request? This seems like a very simple request to fulfill and one that is clearly desperately needed by so many customers. If it's possible for you to display an email preference page, why can't you do the same for a page that requires the user to sign in?
Currently this is a very manual effort for us to walk our customers through updating their user preferences when it should be something a customer can do fast and easily by simply clicking a "Update User Preferences" button.
This doesn't seem like a big ask of HubSpot and it doesn't seem like they care enough to even respond. What am I missing?
In the past, we've been able to base64 encode email addresses to generate a URL to individual contacts' preference pages in HubSpot (the same one that is included in marketing emails from HubSpot). After a security update from HubSpot, however, this is no longer possible.
We therefore request access to being able to set up a landing page with the same functionality as the default subscription preference page, but that we can link to from anywhere. Right now, we have no way of giving our customers access to this page except for in marketing emails, while we would like to be able to do so from e.g. within a log-in required customer portal.
P.S.: we have set up a landing page that allows contacts to subscribe/unsubscribe to email marketing from us in general, but have been unable to do so for individual subscription types.
I'd like to understand a bit better whether this is a question or a feature request. If it's a question, could you please provide more context about what you'd like to achieve? If it's an idea, please let me know so that I can move it to the appropriate forum for the product team to review its feasibility.
Thanks for the quick reply. This is a feature request/idea: we were able to generate a URL to the subscription prefence page for individual contacts before, but due to an (understandable) security update on HubSpot's part, this is no longer possible.
However, it would be really useful to be able to offer customers the opportunity to adjust their subscription preferences from e.g. within a logged in customer portal. Thus, we would like to be able to set up / generate a URL to a subscription preference page that lets a contact manage their preferences for individual subscription types.
We really need this functionality. Multiple HubSpot clients have asked for this and when you are sending a 1:1 email it would be helpful to include a link to the email preference page.
