We are GDPR compliant, so we require contacts to double opt-in to receive marketing emails. We have the default option to "Send opt-in email" under the Actions drop-down inside the contact's profile. We're looking for a way to generate this double opt-in link, so we can insert it as a CTA inside a one-to-one email that can be more conversational or personalized, rather than resending the same generic double opt-in email over and over again.
When we preview/edit the double opt-in email, we can right-click on the subscription link to get a sort of "preview" URL. During testing, we found that we can send this URL in an email, and the email address will be marked as confirmed/opted-in in the contact profile; however, the test user is sent to an error page rather than the usual confirmation page. Thus, it seems like the foundation of what we're asking is there but with glitches. We need a way to get a valid double opt-in link that we can send to contacts that will show the normal confirmation page rather than an error page.
