As a HubSpot user, I would like to analyse forms and their submission in the custom report builder. This was already possible in beta, but was unfortunately removed again upon release.
Unfortunately, @JoeMayall's solution to this only works to a limited extent for our use case: "The best place to analyze form submissions is in the Form Analytics page (Analytics Tools > Forms)"
What we need:
Filter submissions (e.g. by lifecyclestage of the contact)
Further data on submissions (e.g. on which website took it place).
Further options for graphical representation. Currently there are only Area, Column and Line.
Drill down from the report to the individual contact. Similar to almost all existing reports, a table should open when the report is interacted with. At present, the report only links to the form.
And most importantly: A report that depends on the exact time of the submission. First and recent conversion are too imprecise for this.
This is really needed! I shouldn't have to create a workaround just to show my boss how many demo request form fills we get each month. The analytics view doesn't account for duplicates and deleted contacts and thus isn't sufficient.
I don't understand. We had form submissions as an option in the custom report builder and it worked great back in 2022. I'm just getting back into HubSpot after a couple years in a different tool and now suddenly this feature is only "in development"?
I don't understand. Back in 2022, we had this ability and it worked great! After two years in a different tool, I come back to HubSpot and we suddenly can't do this anymore? How is this just now "In Development" when the functionality existed and was customer-facing two whole years ago? Do better HubSpot.
I just switched from Keap (which had this functionality) to HubSpot and very dissapointed to see that this is not part of HS reporting. The download of form submissions should have a field in the CSV of which form it is.
We sell tours and our customers fill a form to download Itineraries often during their investigation, then submit Trip Inquiry forms when they get closer to buying. We would like to track activity on these forms to get an idea of how many Itinerary downloads preceded the Trip Inquiry, and then which of those visitors Booked a Trip (a Deal). We warehouse our data, so i can potentially run this report out of Power BI, but I would have to go sync a thousand little properties to get all of the form submission data, if it's even gettable.
Chiming in to upvote this, as well note that we are absolutely baffled that this is not possible at the moment. It seems almost as if HubSpot went out of their way to prevent customers from being able to report on forms outside of a few very inflexible, default options scattered all throughout the platform. For example:
Within an individual form on the "Analyze" tab, I can see a breakdown of submissions by the value of each property (this is exactly what we're looking for, but visualized differently). I cannot "pop this out" and turn it into its own report, even though I can do this from email analytics:
In the report builder, "forms" is shown as an option in the "data sources" dropdown on the left under the Marketing section; there are several default reports shown and they list "form" as a data source as well. However forms are not available as a data source in the custom report builder.
Form submission events were previously available as part of the legacy behavioral events tool. The KB article suggests utilizing custom or marketing events instead, but these are not suitable replacements for many reasons (property limit within custom events, unable to create marketing/custom events via workflow, etc.).
In the traffic analytics suite, submissions can be viewed over time and filtered by content type, device, country, etc. But this also cannot be used as a starting point and modified, nor can we break down by data within the submission.
What are we missing here? Why does every possible avenue for reporting on form submission data turn into a dead end? The data is clearly available, but the end user's ability to customize it in a way that makes sense for their business is blocked off everywhere in the platform. Super frustrated every time we run into one of these inexplicable limitations.
I need to create a report on how many interactions my team has with a specific group of contacts. "Interactions" is defined as form submissions of a handful of specific forms, some of which are designed to be submitted multiple times by a contact. The custom report builder doesn't have access to form submissions, and in the form reporting, I can't combine submissions across forms or filter submissions by specific contact groups, so there's just no way for met to get these numbers. (My workaround going forward is to have the form submission trigger a workflow to create a Task called "#form-interactions-reporting" and then I can report on the tasks with that name, but this is kind of a silly solution since I'm just creating clutter by duplicating one hidden/inaccessible piece of data as another type of data that I can see.) The data I need is already there in a table in moy portal. Can I please have access to it?
Upvote again, need the ability to see total forms submissions by month with a filter to select what forms I am reporting on. Can't believe a sales/marketing focused CRM that encourages use of their lead capture can't easily report on the total submissions of said forms. HUBSPOT PLEASE!
