Feedback on new Leads object in beta

Hello HubSpot team!

We love having more details on the qualification process! Some things we love:
- Leads got us to start using Lifecycle Stages, and we are excited for the insights that will provide.
- The new Lead object gives us a way to better isolate the contacts we are prospecting compared to simply having open tasks.
- The ability to see form submission information quickly and easily is super valuable and allows us to transition forms from Inbox to Leads.

Keep up the great work! From our real world use case, here are some improvements we would love to see:
- The ability to easily edit the Lead Name.
- We'd love a way to categorize Leads into different campaigns or products.
- RingCentral integration
- Searching leads does not search the Lead Name
- A way to customize the information in the new Deal creation form when a Lead is qualified. We have a custom "Product" field on Deals and, in a perfect world, we could have the same field on Leads (to categorize our outreach campaigns) and this field would carry over to a new Deal when a Lead is qualified.

- Allow us to order the stages in Lead reports so the graph goes from top of the funnel to the bottom, instead of the stages with the most leads to the stages with the least.

- Also in reporting, the Lead Source Lifecycle Stage is displayed with the internal value instead of the label. We have a custom lead stage that has an internal value of a bunch of random numbers.

- Finally, the "create post" form on this website requires you to select a category but Leads is not an option.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this beta! We are very excited to be using Leads and look forward to the evolution of this new object.

We have another piece of somewaht critical feedback: When we receive OOO replies the Lead is automatically moved to "Connected" -- while it's useful to know when we should follow up, we didn't actually connect in this situation and our rep has to move the Lead back to "Attempting" manually.

 

Since there are several pieces of feedback in my original post, and this follow up is completely unrelated, would it help for me to make separate posts for each issue/topic?

MUCH Better reporting on leads so we don't have to use Sales Prospecting to see leads and next actions.

Make Leads a full object with custom properties.

Make these properties easily editable from the contact page or have a new leads workspace that doesn't go to prospecting (which only people with sales pro licences can see)

Remember on the Prospecting sheet which user you were looking at rather than defaulting on load to the logged in user. For instance, looking at a contact that has someone else as the Owner, then clicking on the lead and viewing in workspace will bring you to a screen saying Nothing to see here. You have to then go up a level and change the user to the person who is the contact owner to view the lead.

Make editing leads names MUCH easier (currently have to delete and enter a new lead)


As a tip - make leads have similar functionality to deals with similar reports. The Prospecting section is great for sales users - but it shouldn't be the way SALES MANAGERS have to access the leads data.
