Expand Lead Object User Permission Settings

The New Lead Object is fantastic however the lack of granular settings is a massive roadblock when it comes to team adoption of the tool.

For example; we can only give users access to all prospecting workspaces or only their workspaces - what about global companies with multiple team levels

Example 2; we cannot create custom lead properties that are only visible & editable to specific teams (important for multibrand companies). With any custom property created, when cannot customise the lead area display to ensure teams are looking at the core set of properties for this object

Example 3; when it comes to properties there is no setting to restrict which properties are editable and which are not - the system will preset some of these properties and should not be editable by the individual sales users

There are many more instances where the default functionality within other objects has not yet been brought into the lead object. Teams are used to the set-up and functionality within HubSpot being mirrored across objects, and this stark difference with leads results in frustration towards a fantastic tool.

I have encountered several companies that have not yet migrated to this new workspace due to the lack of these functionalities and the lack of clearer lead visualization. This is something that the Deal object does very well, where I can have more than one pipeline and view the stages in Board (Kanban) format.

The functionalities that are greatly missed are:

  1. Board (Kanban) view in the prospecting space
  2. Conversion dashboards based on leads and their properties
  3. Data transfers from distinct objects to this new Lead object

I agree, and we also come across roadblocks when it comes to permissions. We need to be able to set limitations on who can see which user's leads, and thats not possible at the moment. Extremely frustrating that Leads doesnt have its own object in permission settings.

It's quite possible for a Sales rep to qualify/disqualify a Lead by mistake. We should be able to empower our reps to update the Lead Stage at their own convenience.
