Enrolment criteria for property field increase and decrease

Currently, HubSpot workflows allow enrolment based on specific property values, but there’s no direct way to trigger automation when a property value either increases or decreases. This functionality would be extremely useful for tracking changes over time in numerical properties like "Deal Amount", "Contact Engagement," and other metrics that fluctuate.

Use Cases:

1. Deal Management: Automatically trigger notifications or update deal stages when a "Deal Amount" increases or decreases, allowing for more responsive sales processes.

2. Customer Engagement: Trigger follow-up actions based on an increase or decrease in customer engagement metrics, such as the number of interactions or activity level.

3. Custom Objects: Trigger automations when a custom object is associated with a CRM object, and the roll-up property (e.g., "number of X") either increases or decreases.

Hi @Alexander-tmp

Unless I am mistaken these cases can be covered by using the "is known" trigger in combination with activated re-enrolment. That means the workflow triggers every time a deal value or count property changes.

Hey @franksteiner79

Thanks for commenting, and I welcome your insight (: while it covers the general scenario of triggering workflows when a property changes, it doesn't fully address the specific need to differentiate between increases and decreases.

For example:

  • If the "Deal Amount" goes from $10,000 to $15,000, this would trigger the workflow.
  • If the "Deal Amount" drops from $10,000 to $8,000, it would also trigger the workflow.

In both cases, the workflow wouldn’t be able to distinguish whether the change was an increase or decrease. This creates an issue for workflows meant to trigger only when the deal value increases, as they would still enrol deals every time the value changes - regardless of the direction.
