Editable (and Save-able) Text-Blocks in Quotes and Quote Templates
Adding to this Idea instead of creating a new one, but this lacking feature is literally preventing us from using the Hubspot Commerce space for very similar features. @hubspot, I think it's an easy solution and just requires a re-arrangement/utilization of features that exist already. Let me explain:
PROBLEM: For service providers who need to create and submit Proposals, Quotes, SOWs that capture the customer problem, solution, and associated costs/terms, the written language is different every time. Right now we use Word / Google Docs to compose that. Hubspot's current Quote Template features do not suffice because when you go to create and use one on a Deal, the language in the Quote Template is locked and un-editable. For example, I want to edit the portions the red arrow is pointing to, but can't:
That we cannot edit the text in the Quote Wizard is a major problem... in B2B sales rarely can text be templatized like Hubspot has it.
SOLUTION: All Hubspot needs to do is reconfigure the feature set to allow in-element editability within a Quote Template. For example, when I'm creating this quote and want to capture/write the unique details of the Deal with tailored language to our customer, we can enable the rich text editing properties that are available all throughout Hubspot into the Quote-building Wizard... for example like this:
ADVANCED SOLUTION: Utilizing same featuers that drive Snippets, Emails, Templates, etc. -- and taking inspiration from DocuSign, PandaDocs, etc. -- Hubspot could allow Users to save text blocks for later insertion into some sort of "Smart Blocks" library. For example, an "Intellectual Property" clause or "Terms and Conditions".
This feature is already available in HubSpot. We are using it now. Essentially, you have to build out different templates for different uses and then select which template you wish to use while building your quote.
The original thread (not yet solved for) is referencing how the pricing tables display into the templates (the hard backend code) which CANNOT be edited to show different column widths (which is especially ugly when you have long product names/descriptions because it auto formats all columns to be the same width regardless of their cell contents).
This idea is proposing to do away with the need for templates and have editable/save-able quote elements/blocks as part of the wizard, instead of having so many items. One of those editable blocks could be adjustable columns/tables.
