As a software provider, we have api's that clients use to pull real estate listing data. From time to time, there are field updates to these APIs that include elements of a URL.
Because these updates often only affect a very specific group, we send these API updates via email. This may include code that has URLs included.
This is a simple code update that should not include a clickable link. But, because Hubspot detects anything that could potentially be a link and forces an unsolicited hyperlink, customers get confused and attempt to click on what should be a plain text code snippet.
Ultimately, I would love to see the option to turn off auto-hyperlinking when creating a marketing email. But, I would settle for a code snippet type style in the email builder that allows for true plain text in an email.
