In the dashboards, there should be a description area below the report title on each report. It'll help anyone, regardless of team or role, understand the filters applied to and the goal of the report. It'd be cleaner than trying to include a brief description in the title itself.
This would be a very helpful feature. I've also had to make overly detailed and specific report names that take the whole width of the page to compensate for the lack of ability to describe a custom report 😄 I'm sure we all strive to make reports that pass "the blink test" and are easy to understand without explanation, but I also know our audience and they would value the context.
This would be very helpful. Adding a full textblock is often a bit of an overkill and takes up too much space on the dashboard. So a quick description or comment would help
I'm surprised this is not a feature yet. This should be a standard for reporting purposes. In addition, the "About" tab of the report is not editable but takes up a large part of the reporting view.
Agreed. This would be more helpful for fellow team members to easily understand what the reports are about. Currently, the about tab for viewing custom reports would just show "This is a custom report." which doesn't provide much details to the rest of the team viewing the reports created by other team members.
+1 yes please! As others have mentioned, the add text feature on the dashboard is great but can get unwieldy. It would be so great to have a feature in the report builder where we can add custom descriptions natively -- not everyone on a team who needs to see data has the same level of understanding of how the CRM has been set up or how/why the given data is meaningful.
If it's a question of size on the dashboard, I'd be fine with the chart/table/whatever in the report to get smushed down to fit the text, and probably a character limit on the text would be wise as well.
Hey all! PM from HubSpot Reporting here, there are a few ideas floating around with the same underlying need of Report Descriptions, but marking this one specifically.
This is in progress, with a fun twist as well 😉!
I'd love to get some folks into the Beta we are about to start. I will send out emails to folks who responded to this thread (or others) recently. Feel free to drop a comment if you're interested. Either way, excited to roll this one out soon!
Hey all, just merged a few different ideas that were about this same subject all into this thread. If you receieved a notificaiton about a change, thats what it was. Again, let me know if you're interested in the Private Beta, thanks!
Here's a little image sneak peek for those interested in the "twist" I mentioned! (AI assistance to write it for you!)
