In many countries, Email IDs are not as prevalent as phone numbers. Many of the contacts don't have mail ids but phone numbers. Hence while importing 100s of contacts to hubspot, it's important to make sure no duplicate records with same phone numbers are uploaded. This feature is very much needed.

This is very necessary. A Contact can have many phone numbers, even WhatsApp phone number. Creating a custom property requiring unique value cannot solve the problem completely. It is best to have a deduplicate mechanism by Phone number, similar to Email. You should even use only 1 property and store many phone numbers simultaneously.
They have this its an upsell to another product. I have the same problem as we are a phone based company so most of our outreach starts via phone so it has becomoe our unique identifier. Then formatiing of the numbers becomes the issue. We NEED a better solution
