In many countries, Email IDs are not as prevalent as phone numbers. Many of the contacts don't have mail ids but phone numbers. Hence while importing 100s of contacts to hubspot, it's important to make sure no duplicate records with same phone numbers are uploaded. This feature is very much needed.
It would be great to have a number of fields to dedupe by. I'm not sure how the deduplicate feature looks for duplicates there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it's logic, but it misses a ton of duplicates even ones that have the same email address.
Yes! We have 140k companies with 1-2 contacts each, and phone numbers are WAY more prevalent than email addresses. We desperately need a way to dedupe on phone number.

We could greatly use this feature. A lot of our contacts are created via integrations which will sometimes pull in a record with a phone number and no email. I'd love to be able to de-duplicate / match them up to existing records.
seems like such an obvious free feature, its essential to so many users who don't use email as their primary form of communications - our telesales department use phones to ring and qualify the leads - we generally don't collect emails until the lead has been qualified.
How this feature hasn't been implemented yet is crazy, in the middle of onboarding and really shocked to find out that we can dedup by phone. Our customer base is largely farmers/older people who don't use email, and those that are on the younger side of things prefer methods like phone/whatsapp etc. So now we are tasked with trying to figure out a way to identify and import and dedup over 4000 contacts that have no email addresses.
It is about time that this one gets some attention. As much as I love HubSpot, this update means a lot to many of us who don't always use emails as our main identifier.
This feature is a make-or-break for our team. I need a sales rep to be able to "create contact", enter a phone number, and know whether or not that contact has already been created. It works for email, why not phone number? This appears to be a simple filter, false/true, database search, but maybe I'm missing something since I'm not a developer. This thread started and this feature was requested back in 2019.
