The Sales Forecast tool isonly accessible to users who have a paid Professional or Enterprise seatand is part of a team. Soif I remove their Enterprise Sales license, they won't appear on the Forecast page at all.
Toensure that the previous forecast information stays intact, the alternative here would be to deactivate the user without removing their Enterprise Sales license. This user would no longer have access to the account but still remain in the Forecast tool so you can see past data. However, the catch here is that this user will also still appear in current and future quarters. Also, if you decide that you want to remove their Enterprise Sales license in the future, you would need to reactivate them, remove the paid seat access, then deactivate them again.
The ideal scenario would be for previous forecast and sales information to remain intact but for the team member to NOT show in current and future quarters.
I'm the Product Designer on the forecasting team and I'm happy to share that we released an update today that allows deactivated user data to remain in the forecasting tool.
The deactivated user's closed won deals they own will count towards goal attainment for the period they were active as well as their forecast submissions. If you'd like to view a deactivated user in the forecast table, open the close date filter and filter to a period where they were active and you'll see them appear in the table, they will not appear in future periods.
If you deactivated a user in the past but did not retain their paid seat/license at the time of deactivation and they are not showing up in the forecasting app, you may need to reactivate that user, assign them a paid seat, and then immediately deactivate them again so that their seat is retained. Moving forward, when users are deactivated, their seats are retained but no longer count towards seat totals or require payment.
