PieSync supported syncing Microsoft Business Central. You can keep using PieSync through 2021, but in the meantime we're checking if we need to prioritize turning this into a data sync app? Please upvote! Thanks.
In 2023 we'll look to release an invoice sync for Business Central. To note: those invoices will likely just sync to a dedicated 'invoices' object inside of HubSpot, which in turn you can associate to won deals (but you don't have to)... Basically what data sync would do is make sure you can have those invoices live in HubSpot as the very thing that they represent (= invoices) so that these records can trigger automations and fuel reporting in the very way you want them to.
Double clicking on your need of what you'd get out of BC items actually syncing into the HS product library... I understand it will make quoting a bit easier! Good to hear that.
As to your note on customer sync: you're very right, and it's an issue we need to deal with on a level beyond just Business Central, and in fact beyond data sync in general. The very ambiguity of customers representing both B2C and B2B is what causes a disconnect a lot of our accounting syncs.
@JobA would it help if we'd be pulling in the sales invoices into HubSpot (that's one thing we're working on)? or would that not paint a complete picture?
We're aware the Business Central sync is far from optimized.
Here's why: all data sync apps (92 at the time of writing) all stem, quite incredibly, from the same data sync framework.
Whether it's Mailchimp, ZohoCRM, or Business Central, the underlying syncing logic is the same.
This shared logic makes it incredibly scalable (for HubSpot), though on the flipside it results in limitations when you consider integrations independently.
Now, with a lot of our data syncs, the value provided by the fundamental sync is considerable. In the case of Business Central, I'll be the very first to admit it's just not ideal ... yet.
Look for improvements this year where we'll start adding much more finance-like objects.

Invoices sounds perfect. Even better if its syncing to a dedicated 'invoices' object in Hubspot. Provided it has the line level details so that workflows can be built around specific product/service sales.
Item syncing to HS would be beneficial for building quotes and any workflows and automations for speicifc product sales. This might be accomplished through the new 'invoices' sync though.
Yes, 'customer' sync sounds like an industry problem. Only solution I can think of is to enable a degree of user config on how the sync is setup, i.e the user chooses if they want 'customer name' or 'contact name' as the name in HS. We solved this with a little dev on the BC side, basically when we create a new customer in BC, it will copy the name we put in the 'customer name' field into the 'contact name' field which is what HS is picking up. Seems to be working mostly.....
Would be happy to be a BETA tester for any development on the BC integration if you need one.
