When you create a deal, there is a default close date (end of current month). Every month, we have to postpone the close date of our deals to the next month.
In our industry, the time to close is more around 80 to 90 days. The deal forecast will be more accurate with a close date set 2 or 3 months after the create date.
@gelflex-cc, sales automation seems to be available starting from the 'professional' package.
@rasmustoivonen, we use another property for that. We created a custom one called 'expected close date', which allows the reps to give an indication of when they think it'll close. This also helps us to get a grasp of how accurately are people able to determine the actual close date.
@ernopyykko, Thanks! Though, I wanted to do this to simplify for our Sales Reps. Your solution is nice for analytics and follow-up reasons though not for simplifying reasons and minimizing faulty data..
Or...don't auto-generate a close date at all. I don't seen why that is necessary. Our industry has sales cycles from 9-12 months and this is not helpful at all.
How has Hubspot not fixed this yet? Can't be too difficult from a programming point of view. What percentage of users benefit from auto-populating Close Date with a totally arbitrary date that can't be adjusted in settings? Must be about 1 for every 100 people who find this annoying and disruptive. C'mon Hubspot, you're better than this!
Also think this is one of the most annoying things about hubspot, kinda insane that theirs 5+ page on this + numerous other topics and no one has done anything about it.
+1, I understand why it's better to have a deal close date on all deals, but for some pipelines with extremely long deal close times it's just irritating.
+1 Please make the default close date configurable OR at least change the default behaviour of the close date on deal creation such that its empty to begin with. This is creating lot of confusion while creating new deals and we have to manually clear it everytime.
if in the set close date workflow property there was an option like x days in the future in addition to the date of step and a static date that would work as well...
