Customize the 5 Sales Templates Seen by Free Users
Free users are limited to 5 templates; unfortunately if you have more (for example 10) template within your company free users only see the oldest 5 templates.
I want to select (for every free user) what templates they can use.
In an effort to be more transparent about our team's roadmap, I am updating this issue to 'Not Currently Planned' because this is not planned in our next quarter of work. We have evaluated some ways we can solve this in the future, and I will continue to update here until we have a solution to this problem.
I have ran into this issue with many of my clients and it really frustrates them to know that they will need paid seat to access the sales templates . This is absolutely crazy ..
while I'm a big HubSpot fan, if 'Not Currently Planned' really means "we're well aware of it but it's a friction point that we use as leverage to steer people towards paid seats, so it's not going to be fixed... ever" - can you just say so?
In the meantime, although it's work intensive - template visibility can be managed via "Managed Sharing" and limit it to that user, masking it from the otehrs and not taking up the coveted 5 template slots
@glencornell Can you give us an update on this idea? Maybe my experience is similar to the others here or maybe not, but lacking this particular feature is incredibly frustrating for the following reason...
When I first started using Templates nearly five years ago, I had just added Sales Starter for Sequences, and I just jumped in with both feet. Such was my eagerness to get going, that I started creating Templates based on what I needed in the moment, at that time. That was fine when it was just me using the Templates, but at the time, I didn't think that maybe there would come a time when other free users might enjoy access to Templates.
Much to my surprise, and disappointment, I discovered that they did have access to free Templates, but they were not useful to them, because they were written for my original, specific Sequence purposes, not "all-purpose" or "generic" templates that could be utilized by users across the board.
Now, I could have (should have?) read the KB article on setting up templates, regarding the first five created being the only five that can be shared by free users moving forward, and tried to plan accordingly, but even if I had done so...that was more than 5 years ago! Even if I had planned ahead from the beginning back then, and created my first five templates with more diligence, that was five years ago! How could I plan such that the templates I created then would be the only free templates other users would have access to in perpetuity?
I've since upgraded to Sales Hub Professional, because our needs have grown and shifted. Does it not stand to reason that perhaps the Templates we need to utilize would also shift and change as we evolve/grow as companies? Yet, we're stuck with the VERY FIRST five templates; my free users are hamstrung because my five-years-ago self didn't have the foresight to know this would be an issue (shocker!).
So, at the Sales Pro and Sales Enterprise levels, why can't we PICK the five templates we want to share across all free users? Not five unique templates per user; no...I just want to pick five free "global" templates, and I want to be able to add/remove any template from that set of five at any time.
Have transferred from a different thread which is essentially the same as this one ... in a forlorn hope that HubSpot will actually do something about this. My comment dates from 2019 hence the frustration at the lack of progress.. At the very least can HubSpot allow 5 generic templates for all users (even better would be the personalised allocation of 5 templates per user) as per @michaeljay201 request. It's bordering on the insane that we already pay substantial subscription fees for Pro and Enterprise licences and yet we can't get our colleagues who are much less frequent users to utilise the templated collateral unless they pay Enterprise fees
I 100% Agree!!!! I would like to be able to rotate which 5 are useable for my team. We are small non-profit organization and the whole team doesn't need the sales seat, but just access to one or two templates at a certain point in time.
Additionally, we didn't understand this limitation when we first onboarded and used our first 5 templates quickly. Now that we understand the software we would have done it differently. Hindsight is 20:20 and a remedy to this feature would be hugely appreciated!
I think it's safe to say this topic qualifies as "popular demand"
I've come to the belief that it's not available due to unwillingness to offer it as a way to encourage the purchase of paid seats rather than an inabillity to make it available... but what you're really doing is making it difficult for people who would otherwise be evangelists to sing the virtues of HubSpot to their users by dangling this carrot.
I am confident that if you were to make 5 available it will whet their appetite and make them want more once they see the possibilites
Jumping on this thread! This is integral for us! We have new users that need templates that are past the first 5 we ever created and if we can just re-order or choose which 5 they can have access to, it would be extremely helpful!! Please please add this ability!
Posting to see if there is an update or any kind of follow up. 2020 was posted as not planned but do not see anything with an update on whether or not this has been added to any roadmap. Ran into this issue recently where we are looking for support in email follow ups to be removed off my plate - but now we have to purchase another service starter seat just so that my support person can access this 1 part.
Commenting on behalf of a customer - reasonably, if the account has several templates, it would make more sense to be able to choose the 5 templates that a non Sales seat user can access.
Templates are completely useless without a sales seat and the inability to edit the first 5 templates makes it even worse. Considering how much HubSpot costs it is truly absurd.
