Could be awesome if we can configurate the proposal / quote template.

Hey team - if you don't know your customer success manager (i.e. CSM) - I would recommend emailing

@ZMeggyesi we're just putting the finishing touches on the editable version of "Modern" (first of the three standard templates). So, you're welcome to try that out. Contact your CSM and they can help get you into the beta.

Hey team,

I wanted to post a two-part update. We're really excited to keep moving this feature forward.

First, for those that are looking to custom quote templates without doing and coding - we hear you! We're actually quite close to releasing an editor that will allow you to change text, images, show/hide sections, etc. for quotes. Currently, we're re-building our standard quote templates (Modern, Basic, Original) so that they can be customized using that editor. We'll also be releasing many more templates in the coming months. Stay tuned!

Second, for the folks who are using the CMS to code custom templates - we have important news! We're making some changes to quote templates and your action is required. The short version is that we're making some tweaks to templates that will not only make templates easier to build, but will allow them to be connected to the quote template editor I mentioned above (as well as a host of other exciting features). If you have templates, you'll need to make some changes to them to continue using them. These are the changes my message below was alluding to. You can read the full announcement, as well as directions to documentation, on my blog post here:

Thanks for sticking with us - and please continue to participate in our beta and giving us feedback.

Hey folks - Ethan here (the Product Manager of HubSpot Quotes), I wanted to provide an update to those of you that are currently using HubSpot CMS to create custom quote templates. Hundreds of people are creating custom templates and we greatly appreciate the feedback as we make the features even better.

As we have collected feedback, we have realized that some of the features that will make these templates even more powerful, flexible, and easier to use will require that we make some changes to the underlying schema of these templates in the future. So, if you want to take advantage of new features coming dowmn the pipe, you should be prepared to make some changes to your templates. We'll do our best to make the required changes as minimal as possible.

To be clear: you do not need to take any action at this time.

Your templates will continue to work as expected. However, you should expect to have to make some updates in Q1/Q2. We wanted to give you a heads up as soon as possible. I will update you as soon as we know exactly what changes you'll need to make in order to take advantage of new features. In the meantime, just keep an eye on this thread.

Thank you for working with us - I'm excited to keep making these features even better.

Hey folks - I was wondering how everyone is creating quote templates today. For those not exclusively using HubSpot quote templates, can I ask you two questions?

1. Did you build your quote/proposal template from scratch? Or did you use a pre-made template?

2. What is the solution you're currently using to build quote/proposal templates when you're not using the default HubSpot quote templates?

Hey team - my name is Ethan Kopit and I'm the new Product Manager of HubSpot Quotes. The beta of our quote/proposal customization tools is now available. If you'd like to try it out, contact your Customer Success Manager and they'll help you get access.

Whether you've had a chance to use the new quotes customization features or not, we're actively seeking feedback on how to make Quotes better. If you'd like to give us some feedback, fill out this form: If you're interested in being interviewed by myself and the CPQ Designer, Nate, leave your email at the end of the form.

Thank you so much for your support and, as always, thank you for the feedback!

Hi all!

Our beta for Sales + Marketing/CMS Pro+ customers is presently underway.  This functionality allows your developers to customize the HTML/CSS of the Quote templates to pixel perfection.   If you meet this criteria for the beta, please shoot me a message with your hub ID.  We will get you access as soon as possible - at this time we are onboarding a limited number of customers at a time.

Regarding the above feedback - we are indeed planning and building iterations that do not require coding knowledge.  We agree this is an important part of enabling customization of quotes!

@QDagault  @finn - regarding the packaging of this, totally understand! The requirement is intended to only be a restriction during this beta process.. Initially, our template customization for Quotes uses the power of the CMS and Design Manager, which are presently not features available in Sales Hub.  We are working and planning around having customization solutions that are available to users with only Sales, too.  Thanks in advance while we work through this beta! 🙂

This is a great idea, I know having the ability to do this will open up for opportunity for growth in the Sales pro product area!

We would find it useful if templates can be assigned to different groups, ie template for retail sales and a different template for commercial sales. It would be good if the template can have the tax type saved to the template so it doesn't have to be added for each quote, and the "comments to buyer" and "purchase terms" able to be set for each template.

Thank you

Yes, I would like the ability to edit fields, add new fields and have more control over the layout + branding.

When will the beta be available? 🙂

I think the basic and original template is awesome.

It would help better if we can add description fields that have no value to it but can be reflected in the quotes, just as an added description to the product.

Also, if there is a way for the currency to actually show. For example a US Dollar Quote, to show 'US $1,000.00".

Although the company's currency in HubSpot is set to US Dollars, it does not show up in the invoice.

The dollar sign is a common symbol used by a few countries. It may be confusing for customers if the quote is in US Dollars but has details of a Singapore bank, payable to.

Both countries use $ for currency.

Thank you.

Hi team - I wanted to reach out and say that I've had a few customers reach out about quotes looking specifically to be able to relocate where discounts are displayed and applied on a quote template. This would be great functionality for our customers as we work on this going forward!

Yes, it would be good to customize the naming conventions of certain categories because I am in an educational setting and I could see additional uses outside the traditional sales usage as a quote. There are certain forms we need to collect a signature for.

It would also be good if we could
- add SKUs when we build the quote but choose to hide them from the customer version
- ability to add options eg 3 days at £x or 5 days at £y

Hi all, customization of the quote would be essential for us as a company.

Very important for us, is to be able to change the number format in the currency (to the Netherlands locale).

I hope this will be available in the near future!

we would love to be apart of the test/beta team , represent sweden 🙂

My team and I usually work with other small business on projects. It would be great if there was an option for co-branding so we could add their logos on to a quote/ invoice as well.

A flow on from the product catalog shortfalls is the quoutes from hub spot are not really functional for many business.

Now we have added seperate Initial charge and Monthly recurring charges int the product catalog (we enetered them as 2 seperate products - set up fee as 1 product and monthly recurring charges as another product) we need this to flow into the quotes.

At the moment we can split the initial charge (one time charge) and the monthly but it then adds both of those together.

Wea re in highly regulated field so need to have very clear advice as to what the customer is signing up to.

Options here are

1. Ability to remove the Total as it causes confusion...see image below..

2. Ability to edit Sub Total and Total Text to our specific descriptions.

3. Ability to seperate total Monthly and total initial charges  into seperate fields.Screen Shot 2020-07-20 at 2.32.30 pm.png

Hi all,

In application of local regulations, we would like to add the general terms and conditions of sale to our quotation so that they can be validated at the same time as the quotation.
These general terms and conditions are in PDF format and too long to be entered in the current fields.

It would be great to be able to add an attachment to the quotation.

Please include me in the Beta

I think Quotes need to be more flexible to individual company's work module. If we can interchange the positioning of tax, discounts and commission so that they calculate correctly, that will be awesome.

Right now I have to create a product for tax so that calculation is according to our practice.

Thanks for the consideration.

Agree. The description of the item/product is as narrow as the other two, and makes no sense as it becomes unbearable to read.  Particularly for services it should go something like:

- intro

- itemised services with fee (including adding the option of percentages as for us it doesn't work with only fixed amounts)

- extra info (an optional section, for say listing previous assignments, or clients, again useful for service providers)

- terms and conditions

Hopefully these get added soon. I was super excited to see this as a replacement for our manual proposals but, without a % don't know how to make them work.

Would also love to be included in the beta as soon as it's out please @dnelson !

Any status update?

This is something that needs to happen. For as great as Hubspot has been touted to be, I am very un-impressed and how non-user friendly it is. You can tell this product is a marketing tool that they added sales features to. It is extremly frustrating that we cannot customize the quote template to meet the needs of our company. Since we are a SaaS company we need to be able to add serial numbers and expiration dates to the product lines on the quotes and we cannot do that. We also have Sales Orders that need to be filled out and tracked natively within Hubspot and we can't do that. Very disappointed.
