Like, contacts, deals and companies, it would be great if you could add custom user profile properties. There are times when you might want to include an owner token within an email, like a phone number, title or some other property that's outside the signature. Even though there is a phone number field on the user profile, you can't use it as a token within an email.
This seems like another feature that would be common sense in a normal CRM. Admin should be able to have basic org level fields against the user entity. We need the ability to add First Name, Last Name, Phone, email and other custom fields like maybe who there Manager etc.
This is a real problem when you have older deactivated accounts and everything just shows up as there emails. and you can't just manually update there display name.
This would be great for if your reps have different commission rates. You could store it on the user and use it to calculate commission based on the amounts of their owned deals.
Yes, please implement the ability to create custom user profile fields. We need to use it to store a non-HubSpot calendar link to insert as a token in emails. As mentioned, we have to built a workflow to manage what a user profile field would provide.
Any update on this? This is needed for Enterprise accounts, especially with complex integrations where you need to map users based on Id's (Not email obviously)
This idea has been up here since 2017 with no action from HubSpot? That's crazy to me. I have an integration happening right now that this would be very useful for. I agree with the person who noted that if it can be done for the salesforce integration, why not in other areas?
+1 having a "HubSpot User Object" reduces the need for custom objects for roles that require tracking information unique to each user (example - contractors), and also enables better and more customized reporting on HubSpot users

Hi all, thank you for the feedback and use cases here! I'm on the Product team at HubSpot that is currently building out custom User properties on the User object we released in 2023. We have added a number of default properties (like First/Last name), which you can manage for your users in Settings > Users & teams > Users > Edit User > Profile, and we are now working on building custom properties. To address the initial request from 2017 (wow!), it is currently possible to add the user's phone number to their email signature using Presets (Professional and Enterprise portals). See this KB doc for more details.
@jsg121 I dropped you an email too, but we'd love to talk about this with you. Have a use case that we're launching in the next month or two and would love to implement a custom property on the user that could be pulled into reports.
@jsg121 we have (very excitedly) enrolled in the beta for custom user properties (and are also excited about user-based workflows). Unfortunately we're not really able to use either in their current state. A few pieces of early feedback I wanted to share:
I'm quite disappointed to find that custom properties can only be used on users with paid seats. Are there plans to extend this? It feels extremely limiting, as there is value for admins in using this across all user types.
Currently, custom properties and their values aren't included when you export your users to Excel. This was our key use case -- I wanted to set a custom property (e.g. "ignore in report") on certain users so they could be easily excluded from an adoption report.
Custom properties also can't be referenced/written to in user-based workflows. Frustrating that these two tools (custom properties and workflows) aren't working together.
I'm encouraged by Jenna's response so just adding a couple of use cases here to hopefully help.
1. I would like to be able to add a default meeting link to a User's profile so that I can use this in my Quote Templates
2. I would like to be able to add a User's speciality. For example, Software, Hardware, Service etc. This could potentially be used to link to enquires for a type of product. This could also work for countries or regions.

This is a great idea, both for us as a HubSpot Diamond Partner and for clients that have requested this functionality before.
In our case, we would like to track information regarding our team members and their workload within HubSpot, these custom user properties would be great for that.
I can also remember clients in the past having similar needs too, such as tracking employee birthdays and addresses for internal use.
I am happy to provide any additional feedback that would be of assistance here, and we would certianly be interested in any betas that come out of this development.
