I'm happy to share that creating custom task properties (as well as other engagement properties) is currently being reviewed by our product teams. There is not an ETA yet for when this will be available, but our teams are looking into this more this year. As soon as ny updates are available, I'll follow up here! 🙂
Circling back on this - is there any plan to expand the ability to customize the task object? Tasks have so much more potential than what it can offer in its current state.
I concur, this would be super helpful. We're finding it hard to track and report on tasks because there is no categorization available to discern what types of tasks we're spending the most time on etc. Of course support just says to post the idea and try to get it voted on. Would love to get this added to HubSpot's capabilities!
Yes please, I am getting dirty looks from my management team every time I tell them we can't create custom task types and segment tasks by those custom types for reporting.
Yes, + 1 for me too. Updating the task properties is so necessary. I'd love to filter a queue based off a date property. So, for example - where I have a contact property "Renewal Date" and their renewal date is coming up, I'd love to create a task to contact all upcoming renewals ...!

Yeah, would be very helpful to add properties to the tasks, especially country.
In our company, we work on the different regions, and I am struggling to assign tasks to my team, as I'm not able to choose in the task view specific countries of the companies and open/or reassign tasks for them in a bulk.
+10000000 - this would be a game changer for sales teams. The ability to create task queues by custom task properties alone would save time and energy for sales people everywhere.
Our sales team uses Tasks very extensively but the inability to filter and sort tasks based on contact, company and deal properties is a huge limitation. We are not able to prioritize Tasks how we want to. For example, based on a custom deal property that we use. Hubspot Tasks will continue to be pretty limiting for us until we can filter and sort tasks based on contact, company and deal properties.
Yes!!! This has been dating back for years. This is definitely something that lots of other CRM's have available and this is extremely important for drilling down specific leads! I miss calling on more important leads because this feature is not available!
This feature would be incredibly useful! Task management ist directly related to project management, which is unique in every organisiation, therefore needs to be customizable.. For example, we'd love to have a custom field in the task management where we can add the related Job Nr. (which is not easy to filter in notes only) Thanks!
I'd like to track the result of tasks we assign to our Support/Success team. We create tasks for follow up with clients needing engagement, and we'd like to track the results/responses.
IE: Not intending to use or no need for feature, Intend to use in the near future, No Response, etc.
We could potentially use workflows to generate further follow up, or report on the various responses.
