Custom properties for Activities (Tasks, Meetings, etc.)
We currently have custom properties for contacts, deals, companies and tickets. We need custom properties for activities too, which means custom properties for task, meetings, calls, etc.
Examples:
- Calls: Aircall has to "print" text into the description for the call output
- Meetings: we want to confirm them 2 times. We can record in a structured way whether the meeting has been confirmed.
- Tasks: we'd like to have importance and urgency as inputs to define priority. We currently can't.
As different activity types (calls vs meetings vs tasks) require different information, Hubspot should allow Admins to select which customer property applies to which activity type.
Hi all, I took over from Noah on this project. Quick follow-up: we're still looking to add Custom Properties to Activities/Engagements in the coming quarter(s). We've got a few questions we're still ironing out.
Could you help us out by filling out this quick 2 minute survey about your use case? Much appreciated!
Hi everyone! We're starting to tackle the work to ensure that every engagement type (Calls, Meetings, Tasks, Notes, Emails, SMS, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Postal Mail) fully supports custom properties, and we anticipate a Q4 '25 or Q1 '26 delivery.
We appreciate your continued patience and I'll share more updates when I have them!
I wanted to share another update around custom activity properties, specifically that custom call properties are now available in all subscriptions & tiers. We are still keeping this feature request marked as 'Idea Submitted' until more activity types have custom properties available (since custom meeting properties are in beta and custom call properties are available currently), so keep an eye out here for more updates around other activity types. 😊
Hi everyone! I wanted to provide an update here, because custom meeting properties are now in public beta! You can read more about the public beta and opt in from this page. I'm keeping this request as 'idea submitted' for the time being, since the request asks for custom properties for all activity types, and this beta focuses specifically on custom meeting properties.
Please continue to leave feedback for our product team as you use the beta feature. Thanks! 😊
Hi @ROlver! Thanks for sharing this feedback. I completely understand where seeing the status move back to 'Idea Submitted' could be concerning at first. I just want to reiterate that this does not mean the progress made so far on this has moved backwards at all! We are removing the 'Being Reviewed' status and won't be moving feature requests into 'In Development' until they are in production. This is to ensure we are being transparent about where the product team is at with this feature.
We know this has been a popular request over the years. There have been some aspects on the backend that needed to be addressed before this feature can be implemented more seamlessly, but the product team has shared that we should have more updates about its progress/development this year. Either myself or the PM will update this post as soon as we have more timelines and details to share with our customers.
We appreciate your continued patience here, and look forward to sharing the upcoming progress with you all!
This idea's status has changed from ‘Being Reviewed’ to ‘Idea Submitted’. This change is due to our improvement project to update our Ideas Forum statuses in order to provide better transparency into how we are listening to your feedback.
“Idea Submitted” means that our product teams are aware of this feedback and are monitoring the need for this feature alongside other inputs that determine their priorities & roadmap.
In regards to this particular feature request, our teams are still actively looking into this and we should have more updates, including any timelines, for you this year. Keep an eye out here for those!
For more details about the statuses we use on the Ideas Forum & what they mean, you can read this community posthere.
Hi! My name is Hallie, and I'm an Associate Program Manager on the Customer Experience Management team here at HubSpot. I'm excited to share that this feature request is currently being reviewed by our product teams! While we don't have an ETA yet of when this would be available, we understand how important this feature is to our customers, so we will be providing more updates as time goes on and timelines become more clear.
We appreciate your patience while a plan to implement this is discussed, and be sure to keep your eyes open for future updates on this post!
I want to code activities after they occur to help us figure out what is actually working. How is sales supposed to know what works if we can put the information in there. This is SO needed, and a bit odd it's not already a feature tbh. Over a year Hubspot.........
I am not sure why this hasn't progressed for a few years.
Having internal tasks with similar options to tickets would be ideal for many different use cases - especially with the task automation now available in workflows.
