Custom product properties on Quotes

It seems strange that I'm able to create custom properties on Products (like notes, comment, is optional selection, serial number) but they can't be used/pulled into Quotes. I don't think any functionality will change when we sync our product library with our ERP unfortunately.

I'm excited to share that this feature is now available in Commerce Hub Quotes! You can add line item properties to be displayed in the line items table as either columns or item rows. Hello from HubSpot. Quote custom properties are now available to all portals with Quotes. With this launch Quotes can have their own custom properties to personalize quotes or within reporting & workflows.

Hi all - I'm the product manager for Commerce Hub Quotes and wanted to chime in here to say 2 things are in the works:

1. Adding custom line item properties to Quotes - We are working to support the display of custom line item properties in the quotes line items table in the next month. 

2. Quote custom properties - As @mikechampion mentioned, we are also building the ability to create & display quote custom properties within quotes.

The work to enable custom properties on Quotes is in development. We are aiming to open up a beta in December. Updating this to reflect the current status as the "Planning" stage on this forum is being removed.

What's the point of having custom product properties if those properties can't be included in the generated quotes sent to clients?

I tried to add my custom property to the quote template, and was frustrated to see that it wasn't in the list.

I just ran into this and reported it. Hopefully, this will be added soon.

We spent a fair amount of time trying to customise the quotes only to realise that we can't use them because we can't add custom product properties. Very frustrating! Fix this!

Very frustrating indeed. I'm having the same difficulty.

Makes it impossible for someone like an automobile dealer to generate a "deal" for a large fleet customer who may have 50 cars they want to purchase, each with a unique vin or license plate they need shown on the quote.

Given that it's been in the queue for 4 years, I won't hold my breath 🙄

We found a "workaround". We added the custom properties manually in the design manager for the line items table. Works for our needs.

I understand that you are saying that you were able to add a CUSTOM product field in this quote template, right?

Could you give us a little more information about the process followed to add a new product property there?
I understand that you have had to create a child template, right? If so, how to replace the quote template with the new one?

@Marcosluqueolmo I created a video that demonstrates how you can create a custom HubSpot quote template which gives you access to the line items module. You would then need to edit it to view the "Line Item Column". You can then add your custom property values. My videos walks you through the steps.

Hi Tori,

I am trying to figure out a way to add "per piece" and/or "per record" to the line item quoted price.  I tried to add the property to the "frequency" and it wouldn't let me.  I see where annuity type quoting is possible (E.G. "monthly" shows up after the price) but I don't see a way to display something different than a period of time...as I said, I would like to add a "per piece" and/or "per item" and/or "per record" and/or "per unit".  I was able to add it to the column header on a customized quote templat but it won't work for line items where I need the "per xxxx" to be different than the column header for a particular line item.

It hasn't been easy but, finally, I was able to add the column I needed in the quote with the modern template 😉

It would be great if it could be edited with Hubspot's builder but if there is a solution with code, it's a great step!

When I tried a custom property to use per_piece as the internal value it didn’t work.

Where can I see a list of internal values?

Hi @LBlue 

You have the list of internal values within configuration - Properties, searching within the property.

You can see and edit the list of values that will appear in the quote template you create in the design manager. You will find it, within the "line_items_table" module in the "set_column_property" attribute, as Jake indicates in his video.

PS: If you are not very "technical" and do not handle yourself well in the design manager, you will have no choice but to request/hire help.
