Currently, when you create a custom object it's very limited the associations listed in the workflows.
even though we can create a workflow based on a custom object, there are a series of actions that are not possible (i.e send SMS), and when you create a contact-based workflow you can't refer to the associated custom object properties.
I would love to see the custom objects become more flexible. Currently, we spend most of the time trying to workaround basic functionalities that are available on the default objects.
