Custom Product Attributes & Serial Numbers in Product Catalog

We love the way you can add custom properties to contacts, companies and deals. I would love to see the same functionality for product attributes (fields associated with Products in the product catalog).

A subset of this would be the ability to import serial numbers of physical products and associate them with a product in the product category representing stock. Wenn adding products to a deal, one could then pick the corresponding serial number and hubspot would make sure, that each serial number could only be used once. That would allow us to connect hubspot deals with our physical stock.

This would be extremely useful and something we would require to properly adopt Hubspot Sales

I agree. We should allow us to add custom properties and a unique identifier field such as a serial number to connect the products to a contact and company.

Do allow us to sort and field the list of products we currently have.

I also agree. Especially the sorting of products according to different criteria is very important for us

I agree, I would also use the device/serial number with the ticket system so as to build device history.   This data would give us reports and feedback to our engineering and software teams to look at in the field failures

This is something that would be really useful. We need a deal to have a unique serial number associated with each line item, and then for that serial number to be associated with a company and to populate a look-up field in tickets so that when an agent looks up a serial number they can see all the information associated with the sale of that product, without having to search in deals

I believe this would be facilitated through the use of a 'Custom Object' that is linked to the Products Object. Products should not be confused with assets/individual serial numbers. A product can have multiple Serial Numbers, every unique SN could (in theory) have multiple spare parts (which should also be a separate 'Custom Object'. At least, this is my understanding.

Keen to know what the official line on this is though.

Agreed.

I sell various product lines of heavy equipment. It is easy enough to load the machines by make and model into the products library, but I need a way to easily see what customer owns what equipment. For instance, I want to be able to see what serial numbers are owned by a company, and then have the ability to breakdown to see which serials are owned by which of their branches.

I am trying to bring my 2nd equipment company onto Hubspot as the CRM, but without some sort of serial number based assocation object, I'm really stuck.

If anyone manages a similar scenario and has a workaround for now, please let me know.

I am also hoping this would be something HubSpot can do.  I have groups of products, thena subset that has individual Serial Numbers.  What I would like to do is have my Product Groups and associated with that Product Group are the Machine Models and serial number:

Large Mowers (Product Group)

  • Machine Model (Trailed Mower TC 560) - Serial Number
Machine Model (Right Mower R 280) - Serial Number
  • Machine Model (Left Mower L 320) - Serial Number

When I create the Deal, I can then add the line item, it displays LINE ITEM: Trailed Mower TC 560- "Serial Number"

At the moment I can only add Trailed Mower TC 560 as the line item, and then create a unique property for the serial number

I would like Hubspot to house all my stock, then account for all the machines sold, I can then see what remains unsold.  From this example I have three mowers of which only one has been sold, leaving two in stock.  Right and left.

I would also add, that if you have product groups, then stock with serial numbers, this should also link to the service / ticket system.  So you can see when it was sold, who to.  Any faults or issues and you have a complete cradle to grave history / back story

Does anyone have a work round for this by adding a custom property to the product or deal to capture a serial number of a product to a customer?
