A few observations on essential updates needed for Custom Goals:
With limited functionality within the Goals area to view Custom Goals in a meaningful way, better reporting, using the Custom Report Builder, is essential to give value from using the Custom Goal functionality. Without this reporting capability is hugely limiting, for example, Goal progress cannot be displayed on our individual Consultant's dashboard alongside their deal performance, client analysis etc, which makes for a challenging user experience.
The ability to create views within the Goals Overview area would provide managers better capability to focus in on performance of specific groups of individuals and/or teams
Equally the ability to sort the results on the Overviews tab would enable us to order individuals according to performance, team etc
The ability to add Goals for new joiners to our business throughout the year to the existing Custom Goals is essential to ensuring a full picture is maintained throughout the year
On the Overview tab, when viewing monthly/quarterly goals it would be incredibly useful to have a cumulative progress summary that shows actuals vs target for the year to date, rather than just the end column summary which shows progress agains the total year goal
On the overview tab, the introduction of a totals row at the bottom which summarises combined performance of the records you filter would be ideal.
The overview tab currently always defaults to select Deals Revenue goal, but we are not using that so we have to manually find our custom goal. Some logic to enforce this to select a current active goal as default would be very useful.
Yes, totally agree with @NDunderdale. I find this functionality quite restrictive if we are not able to use our Custom Goals in the Reports/ Dashboards.
You should be able to select which goal you want to use in the Forecasting Tool. Per others on theis thread, Deal Amount is not the key metric for our sales team to forecast but rather a custom property from a custom object.
All of the above please! Also it feels crazy to not be able to add goals & progress percentages to the goals on dashboards - Please open up these variables to custom reports and dashboards!
Absolutely agree that the Goals section needs some serious improvement in order to unlock its full potential. We have sales reps that span across teams and pipelines, and currently the only custom goal reporting we can do is to "Include revenue goal" in a deal report. This works fine for the high-level cross-team goal, but it's currently impossible to report on any of our derivative goals.
