When I create a custom report from a list the system has set defaults for filters (i.e., This Quarter) and the fields it assumes I will want to use in visualization. They badly miss the mark of what I want to report and filter. I recommend HS allow the user to set these defaults based on our preferences and/or take a look at the filters and fields I commonly use and set the defaults accordingly.
