Custom Business Card Properties

For conferences, I have certain custom properties I want to make sure to note but the default properties don't account for those.

Absolutely! At least Company makes a lot of sense.
I have been using the Android Hubspot Appand scanned  Business Card within it.

This would be especially useful when on the fly - scanning the business card and noting a few key important factors for following up!

I would suggest allowing a few properties to be added. Allowing us to select which property fields that appear in the scanning app can make the sales managers job that much better for following up! ESPECIALLY a description/note field for comments!

While the benefit of manual scanning may save time up front, the inability to add custom properties to business card scanners makes it less user friendly and creates more work later.

I agree with this, and actually want to add a further idea of having a "notes" section that you can note down key details that gets automatically saved as a note against that contact when it's created.

Would love this for inputting business cards after a big conference. Currently, we have to go back to each contact we add and indicate the source. It would be amazing if we could add that as a field when scanning.

Yes please! We would love to be able to map the address to the contact or at least be able to manually add that info without having to go back into the contact and edit once it's saved.

We still need major improvements to this tool. The more and more business cards are becoming obsolete and moving to QR codes on badges the more we find we need a solution.

- Customization on fields

-Mandatory fields

-Easily access a list of recently scanned or added contacts for quick updates post event.

Upvoting this as customer mandatory properties have been created for different parts of our business, dropping back in to the contact once added will be very time consuming for the user and include exports of this data needing to be supplied for updates to be made

Yes!!  It would also be ideal to be able to customize the use of the QR code scanner to populate specific, custom properties that could be unique to each event where the QR code scanner feature on the mobile app is used.

Having a way to track the contact's campaign or date updated via the card scanner is mission critical. The Hubspot KB and a tech support says it updates the original source drilldown 1 and 2, which is fine for when its a new contact. This doesn't work when the contact is already in the database. It needs to update latest source or allow us to choose a campaign, so we can generate a list of all the people we scan cards in for at trade shows or other events. If there is another way to locate all the cards scanned in on a particular day (new and existing contacts), that would be fine too.

Upvoting this idea. It would be great to add other properties to the scanning process and especially notes!

Just wondering if this feature has been added since this thread started ?

Thanks !

Having at least the minimum fields that are able to be brought in by the QR scanner for iOS would be helpful and time saving:

  • Address
  • City
  • State
  • Country
  • Company

Ideally, it would be great to customize the scannable items even further, but a good addition would be to offer the same fields as the QR scanner.

We would be interested in a QR scanner which populated custom fields.
