Create folders in Conversations Inbox to organize threads

Hi Team, just a quick suggestion here 🙂 It can get slightly messy when there are too many messages in our Conversations - Inbox Tool, it would be a great idea if we can create "folders" on the left pane and so we can drag and drop like email clients (like Gmail) and track put different messages in different folders!

Come on HubSpot, do it finally please.
People are dying due to the absence of this feature.

Hi team!

Commenting for a customer here (:

It would be great if we can combine this feature to have folders together with the ability to route emails with certain subject headers etc into them.

This would be perfect!

Thank you (:

This would be amazing, we are about to add 100+ chatflows and the current method of organising them is going to be a nightmare to keep track of.

Great news, the timing is perferct.
As we need this feature I just applied to the closed beta program.
@vvadlamani do you know when we can expect an answer?
Also, does this function comes with filters which can automatically sort new conversations in the folders?

Hello everyone!

I'm excited to share that this feature has now been moved to Public Beta. Custom Views in the inbox enables Pro and Enterprise customers to organize incoming messages based on a subset of ticket and conversation properties. If you're interested, the quickest way to request access is to talk to your Customer Success Manager. As always, we'd love to hear your feedback!

@rsail @vvadlamani Hi, we have been trying the public Beta available, and wanted to provide a little feedback...

It would be very helpful if we could also filter on:

  • By Custom properties. For example, if we add a "Project" property to a ticket, and then want to filter the inbox view into those project categories. Right now Hubspot only allows a subset of standard properties to be used.
  • By Email sender "contains"  -- For example, if we wanted to filter any emails that are sent from domain.com to a folder corresponding to that company's URL, that would also be very useful. I kind of expected this would be a standard feature when I heard a beta was being developed as it's a standard rule feature in most email programs.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @ECote ,

Thank you for providing feedback on the Custom Views beta — we really appreciate it! We've heard from multiple customers that the current list of HubSpot-defined ticket and conversation properties available in the view builder is somewhat limiting. While we don't have a timeline at the moment, we do plan to expand the functionality in the future to include additional properties, including custom properties, based on this feedback.

Thanks again!

I'm excited to announce that custom views are now available in the conversations inbox! HubSpot customers with Pro+ subscriptions can now create views based on ticket and conversation properties. We've already heard some great feedback about the feature (thank you!), and are looking forward to continuing to improve and iterate in the future. @rsail  Not having the ability to have a filter by Email sender "contains"  -- and this routing to a folder is a basic feature that needs to be incorporated. This is imperative for our team.

Does anyone know of a third party app that can do this or a custom coder? Or a different CRM system that has this functionality.

We love hubspot but not having this simple feature has been detrimental.

Hi,

Just adding to this.

Not only would it be great to drag and sort email conversations into folders, but it would be great to have functionality where emails with the same subject line is automatically sorted into a folder/label, and automatically archived from the inbox (still marked as open, but just hidden from the inbox).

This works well when your central inbox receives all client account correspondence, e.g. updating personal account details, where the team doesn't need to waste time reading the email because they is nothing to action.

Have a look at Gmail's filter and label functionality on this - they do an excellent job.

Furthermore, it would be great if in workflows, the email subject line or phrases within the email can be picked up as 'conversation information' or a 'property', so that a workflow can be triggered when this phrase is picked up.

E.g. Trigger workflow when "conversation subject" is any of "thank you for submitting your application", Sort into "submitted applications" folder and "archive" from the main inbox

My personal gmail can do this and Hubspot, which is a CRM, cannot. My team is currently evaluating other solutions, such as Front, which provide this functionality. This would be a replacement for Hubspot.

The recent release is over-engineered. Those properties are not useful for meaningfully organizing work.

We don't even need automation. Just the ability to manually "Move to folder" would meet 90% of the use cases here. Again, every single email client in the world can do this. Why are we paying for a CRM?

Currently, this new feature is still very limited. As the original poster mentioned, it would be helpful to be able to use a drag and drop style or tag on emails to create folders to better manage an inbox.

The new views could be helpful, but they only focus on tickets and conversation properties, which none relate to an email in the inbox. Further development of this tool would be super helpful!
