Create URL Redirects for Files that are hosted in the File Manager

I recently found out you cannot create a URL redirect for a file that is currently, or was previously hosted in your HubSpot File Manager.

From Support:
It isn't possible to create a redirect on any URLs with the /hubfs in the URL

Even if you delete the file from the file manager altogether - the previously occupied URL still cannot be redirected.

The best solution is:
A) either delete the File (which leads the user to a 404) or
B) upload a dummy file to the same path in the file manager

Both of these options are less than ideal.

Seems like wordpress and other CMSs offer ways to execute Hosted File to URL redirects.  Hope to see this feature come into HubSpot soon.

Our customers access image files that represent quarterly account performance information.

The file URLs contain the name of the account.

We just changed the names of all accounts, for example, from 'Account 1' to 'Account A'.

Clients may have bookmarked www.ourdomain.com/hubfs/Account1.pdf.

We want that to redirect to www.ourdomain.com/hubfs/AccountA.pdf.

Any suggestions?

If you encounter this problem: there is another solution which consists in creating the redirection from your DNS provider.

But being able to redirect from Hubspot would be much better.

Another problem associated with the file manager of HubSpot. No analytics and no redirecting. Come on HubSpot Product Team...

We want to redirect old, downloadable PDFs to certain pages. My workaround is to overlay a clickable link to those pages. Less than ideal, but it's a solution.
