Converting regluar emails with A/B testing to automatic emails

Currently, it's possible to convert a regular email to an automatic with a simple button press. Unfortunately, if the regular email has two versions for A/B testing it cannot be converted into an automatic email. 

So when someone accidentally creates a regular email and puts time into it and an A/B version it needs to be redone from scratch if it was supposed to be used in a workflow. Making it possible to convert even an A/B regular email to an automatic A/B is a no-brainer.

Yes, currently having this issue now with a dozen a/b emails! Wish there was an easier way around this

This is a very frustration limitation as there's no information around it not working, support aren't aware and the knowledge base article also doesn't provide clear information on the limitation.Automate A/B email testing with workflows (hubspot.com)

The issue is only discovered once you've put in all the work and are ready to send.

If automation of cloned a/b test emails isn't possible then Hubspot should, at a minimum, advise that when it prompts as to what version(s) you want to clone.

We're trying to move towards automated email send rather than regular and this just makes it more resource heavy and discourages the A/B test usage.

I just discovered a workaround.

You can save an A/B test as an email template. Then, create a new email of automated type. Choose the template. You're good to go!

Cloning would be easier, but this just saved me a few hours!
