Convert legacy form to new form editor

It should be possible to convert a form made in the legacy editor to the new editor, so you avoid the hassle of creating a new one and switching out all the places it's used.

This is a great idea! We have so many forms, that the idea of changing them all to new form editor makes my mind hurt!

Hopefully this is something we will see soon!

Absolutely, great idea! Not being able to convert legacy forms to the new editor is a big issue right now because some functionalities of the new form editor are not available in the legacy forms.
As an example, we have put restrictions (number of caracters, numbers only) on a text type property that is already being used in multiple legacy forms (more than 70), those restrictions apply to the new form editor, but not to the legacy forms, meaning that those legacy forms enable to put incorrect data (that doesn't respect the property restrictions) in our CRM.

FYI for those considering adding the new forms, as of 1/6/25, there are issues getting the Beta form submissions to trigger in GTM using GUID: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Reporting-Analytics/Embedded-form-tracking-in-GTM-doesn-t-work-in-n...

I really like the New Form Editor—it produces much better-looking forms. However, it would be incredibly helpful to have the option to convert old forms created using the Legacy Form Builder into the New Form Editor. This feature would save us the effort of creating entirely new forms when updating them to the new format and allow us to retain the same form URLs.

If we can already convert emails from templates to the drag-and-drop editor, why not have a similar functionality for forms?

Totally agreeing with this. It is such a hassle, especially if the form is linked to a workflow or multiple workflows!

I love the new forms editor, but using it means abandoning our old forms and the history we have with them. To see the performance of our main contact form, for example, I have to track 3 different versions that were used over time, and now a 4th as I move to the forms editor. I have to update all dashboards, reports, and workflows. It would be nice to have the option to migrate forms to maintain continuity of reporting.

Yes please! I agree also. Definitely feels like reinventing the wheel to have to make a whole new form, especially when there's a form already in place that would just benefit from a few of the extra features of the new editor.

This should be mandatory. I have over 150+ forms across my website that would require a new form creation and replacement.

Plus this is preventing the validation rules I have on number fields where I don't want negative values.

This part should have been included from the start.

Agree! There should be a way to transfer all forms made via legacy editor to the new form editor.

This would be an excellent feature! HubSpot should definitely offer a way to migrate these forms to the new format, especially since some clients have hundreds of forms on their landing pages. It’s also important to consider the loss of historical data when moving to the new format

Same, we have a lot of forms that need to convert
Also the old form editor dont accept the country code in whatsapp numbers but in the new editor we can add the role for country code

Seems crazy this wasn't planned ahead to support existing forms. It would be super useful.

We would love to have this funcionality as well. One of our critical forms that is connected to a web of functionality across our HubSpot products was made in the legacy editor, but I would love to convert the functionality without losing the critical connections and historical submissions.

Agreed! I have plenty of forms that are built in the legacy editor and I will need to change them to the new one, but:

1. I don't want to loose the history of submissions from the legacy ones. I know I can keep them disabled, but that creates unnecessary mess.

2. I have plenty of workflows that are trigerred by a form submission, so the migration will be also tough and risky if I miss anything

It really is a big deal to have to reconfigure the design, copy over the appropriate landing pages, reconfigure who gets the form data and then copy over the new HTML to over 65 web pages.  Then I lose the continuity of my submissions.  How can Hubspot leave us out in the cold with this?  Then on top of it we have the migration changes.  We should get a rebate or a month FREE for all the hassle.
