'Company name' duplicate notification on 'Create Company' form
Just like an existing 'Company domain name' will result in a notification that one already exists:
I would presume the same would pop up for the 'Company name', but it's not unfortunately:
Although I understand that there could be multiple company records with the same 'Company name' but with different locations (which we also append to the Company name for easy look ups), I think it would be a better experience if at least a notification would show for possible duplicate company names as well.
Hey @AlexBril, this would be great. Having any kind of notification when HubSpot detects that you are creating a potentially duplicate record would be helpful. Also, some more customization options in how potential duplicates are detected, since some companies need to be more specific than others.
I also wanted to recommendInsycle . Full disclosure, I work for Insycle, but it has advanced deduplication features for companies. It won't flag the creation of the company in a form like you requested, but it can be injected into workflows so that duplicate companies are identified and merged immediately after the record is created. Here are some of the more important points.
Use any company field for matching, allowing you to catch more duplicates.
Match related fields too (like phone number to mobile phone number, secondary phone number, etc.)
Set data retention rules at the field level to ensure you retain all of your important data
Inject into workflows so company deduplication happens immediately after the form is submitted.
Here is an articleon some of the advanced ways you can do deduplication. Hope that helps.
In the process of filling out the 'Create Company name : balayage hair artist:' form, users may encounter a duplicate notification related to the 'Company name' field. This notification serves as a precautionary measure to prevent the creation of duplicate entries within the system. When users input a company name that already exists in the database, the notification alerts them to this duplication, prompting them to either modify the company name or verify if the entry already exists. By incorporating this feature into the form, it streamlines data integrity and ensures that each company within the system maintains its uniqueness, thereby preventing confusion and facilitating efficient data management processes.
Thanks @RBozeman for your suggestion. I have some use cases where this could help, thanks! I also have use cases, like this one, where the business rules and decision making trees for choosing to merge or not, are more complex and need human interference. Then a notification would be the best way I think.
Hi @Lna206, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean. Could you clarify on that? Thanks in advance!
