Company and contact info mandatory to create a DEAL
Hello,
I am just starting withDeals and I have an issue regarding the mandatory properties to create a deal.
When Creating aDeal, I want my team to put the Company and the contact associated with the deal. Both information are Mandatory to create a Deal.Today this is not possible.
It seems like a no brainer to ensure team are never missing basic information in a deal.
Yes, we need that. Also, there isn't even a way to build a workflow that identifies deals with no company association to remind reps to make the association. 😑
@dawalsh Is there any update on this functionality? It has been in review for almost a year now and the original request was from 2017. Our company desperately needs to force users to associate companies to deals. Its causing a ton of extra work for us to manually review.
Hello @dawalsh -- We're closing in on 5 years for this request. Please add the ability to make an associated Company and / or Contact a required property when creating a Deal. This should be added in two places:
1 — To the Pipeline Management tool as an optional Required Field.
Settings > Data Management > Deals > Pipeline Settings > "Edit Properties" within Update Stage Properties
2 — To the Deal Object Manager Settings, "Create Deal" Form as an optional Required Field.
Settings > Data Management > Deals > Setup > "Customize the Create Deal Form"
Hi everyone! We were just figuring out that we also urgently need this feature, to be able to require deals being assciated with company and/or contact when created.
I reached out to HubSpot Support to try to get some insight and received the below message.... Pretty disappointing, but wanted to give everyone an update.
"I reached out to the team looking after this feature - and I can confirm there is no update on this case. I understand this is not the answer you were looking for, however, I can assure you we are aware of the popularity of this feature and will update the community if there are any further updates."
My workaround for missing Contacts (and Companies if the rep forgot to add both): I created a bandaid of sorts to act as a temporary reminder for reps who neglect to add a Contact to a Deal. I went into Hubspot's automations and created a workflow that sends an email to the deal owner and to their manager if the field "Number of Associated Contacts" is less than 1. Most of the time, if a sales rep hasn't added a Contact, they haven't added a Company either. It's not a perfect solution but it has cut down on the number of missing Contacts/Companies by 99% in my organization.
When creating the Automation I used the following triggers:
Pipline is any of [selected pipelines]
Field "Number of associated contacts" is < 0
For the Action I used: "Send internal email notification"
Delivered to: Deal Owner and their Manager
Email Body: Hubspot has detected that your Pipeline opportunity, {{ deal.dealname }} does not list any associated Contacts. Please review and add at least one associated Company and at least one associated Contact to this deal.
Finally, I set the workflow to re-enroll the deals.
That's it. This workflow won't catch a missing associated Company if the rep puts in the associated Contact. But so far it's working very well to catch Deals that need a Contact. Hope this is helpful. 🙂
Would like the same for tickets. Not only is there no global shortcut for tickets, but you can't associate a ticket to a deal from the ticket window. Deals critical, but for our client's business, required association of tickets are extremely important too.
It's been 5 yrs since original request has been here and just about 500 hundred upvotes. 500 different companies want this solution and still this is under review and not being implemented. Not sure how the Products team really decides onthese features' level of importance!
