Need to be able to clone an individual deal. This is helpful for recurring revenue organizations and building MRR. Please!
Update from @JoeMayall: Due to a technical error on HubSpot’s end, this thread has an inflated upvote count. As of June 10th, 2020, we estimate this thread has around 500 upvotes. I'll continue to update this count as the thread receives upvotes."

We’re excited to share that the basic cloning functionality is now live to all! 🎉
To keep the momentum going, please continue the conversation by creating new Idea posts. This will help us capture upvotes on the most popular enhancement requests (such as a workflow action, permissions, and more).
Thank you all for continuing to share your feedback and helping us shape the future of this feature!
Thank you for the continued discussion on this thread. I’d like to share an update on the enhancements we’ve made to address the most pressing needs.
Enhancements
Conditional properties are now supported: you can change the deal pipeline or stage during cloning, letting you split deals or tickets at clone time.
The cloned record now stores the source record’s name and record ID in Record source property 1 and Record source property 2. You can now set up a workflow to create an association between the source and cloned records, then copy any additional properties with the Edit record action.
Let’s keep the conversation going—please leave feedback in the in-app survey or in our form here.
Thank your for the contiuned discusssion on this thread. We are tracking each and every single feedback to help shape the future iterations of record cloning. So far, we have heard about a few key recurring themes.
The need to "split deals" by allowing pipeline stage to be change at clone time (and the correct properties cloned depending on the stage)
The need for a workflow action to automate the clone action
The need to copy all propreties (and exclude some properties as an admin configuration)
The need to copy all associations & activities beyond what's been configured in the record creation
Auto associating source & cloned record.
I'm happy to share that we have made the decision to prioritize #1 today so you can expect an upgrade within this release.
For everything else, let's keep the conversation going. If any of these enhancements apply to your use-case, please tell us more. You can leave feedback in the in-app survey, through the beta update survey, or in our form here.
I'm happy to announce that basic record cloning private beta is now availale to all accounts. We would greatly appreciate your feedback on your experience with the beta. Your insights are invaluable in helping us improve and ensure the product meets your needs. You can leave in the in-app survey or connect with me directly here on Community.

Everyone who added their Hub ID to the interest form should now have access to the private beta for "Basic Record Cloning." We are looking at opening the beta to everyone shortly! In the meantime, please share any feedback you have once you have given it a go!
Hi everyone - Thank you @lgancarz for reporting the issue with required Line Items. The fix should now be available to all who are enrolled in the beta. Please give it a go and let us know if you have any additional feedback!
All who have added an entry in the beta interest form should have the "Basic Record Cloning" product update. Don't forget to enroll in the beta before checking it out!
Hi everyone -- As of today, we are in a limited beta with a selection of users who had signed up on the interest form. If you are keen to try the beta right away, I encourage you to add your name and Hub Id to the form. We'll be gradually expanding the beta and would be happy to have you included in the next round!
I'm Naz from HubSpot's product team, and I have great news! Our product team has prioritized Record Cloning in 2025. We'll keep you posted as we make progress toward this goal. In the meantime, if you are interested in participating in any research as we shape the solution, please submit your contact information in this form.
Hey HubSpot Community, Here to share an un-fun update. We explored Cloning Deals in the second half of 2023 but are not ready to execute yet. Projects like this seem easy on the surface, but both technical and customer experience implications really matter. We're committed to providing the best experience, and sometimes that means taking extra time to do so. I know this is still a pressing need, and plan to make strides this year. In the meantime, as folks on this thread have mentioned, either using a workflow or an app like Deal Duplicator are your, admittedly not perfect, best options. -Maggie
Hi HubSpot Community great news! Our product team is prioritizing this feature and actively working on a solution. To help us better understand what exactly you'd like to clone (e.g. properties, associations, activities), could you please take this short survey? Thank you!
*Update: Survey link has been fixed, please let me know if you're still not able to access it.
Thank you for your continued feedack here. I wanted to provide an update on the status of this idea. Cloning a deal is absolutely on a list of things we’d like to do. However, the list is long and time and resources are limited, so building this functionality is ultimately a question of priorities, and this is a lower priority compared to some of the other things we’re working on right now. We're continuing to keep an eye on the use cases provided in this idea and are always re-evaluating our top priorities, I'll be sure to update this thread when this is a more near-term priority.
I used an automation tool (ZAPIER) to "clone" a deal.
We add another Deal Stage called "CLONE ME" exclusively for Cloning. So once you update deal stage to "CLONE ME", it will trigger the tool to copy the value of your updated deal then produce new deals with the copied data.
I've been unable to find this as a feature request but it seems as though load of us are struggling with the same issue.
we'd like to be able to:
1. duplicate/ clone a deal
2. create reoccuring deals
and some people would like to be able to;
3. split a deal eg: total annual deal value split into monthly deal amounts
4 create reoccuring deals with variable amounts
Would it be worth looking at how these are handled by an accountancy software such as Xero?
As a separate issue;
The deal function doesn't really fit into any SME's workflow because the actual payment of an invoice can only ever reconciled with accountancy software such as Quickbooks, Sage. Xeroetc and there's no point in duplicating out workload by:
a. creating a deal in Hubspot
b. creating a deal in our accountancy software
c. when the money is paid into the business bank account we then have to manually go back into the deal in hubspot and mark as closed.
d. This becomes a pointless task when;
- we're having to do this every month on recurring deals
- the deal pipeline in the accountancy software automatically reconciles the money with the deal.
SUGGESTION: Be able to copy an exisitng deal and create a duplicate deal.
REASON: in a B2B environment we often create multiple deals for the same company. A majority of the time, only a few properties change (Amount, Close date, Descritpion)
I think this should be an easy option where the user could select CLONE DEAL and be forced to upate the Deal Property
@Goohlay, thank you so much for sharing your solution. We are also trying to clone the deal with Zapier however we do not find the copy value. Is this happening on Hubspot or Zapier? Is there an additional step we're missing on Zapier? At the moment we have the triggers "deal entered a new stage" and "create a new deal" but are unsure of where we can get the step to copy the data.
